  • Head over to videofitness.com and ask their recommendations. There are a lot of people there who might have recommendations for videos. I have a fair amount of dance videos. I like Zumba on the XBOX 360. That is pretty fun. I also like Christi Taylor's Spice video (there is no verbal cueing though). Shaun T's Rockin Body…
  • I have Hip Hop Abs, Rockin Body, and T25. Shaun T is definitely cheesy in Hip Hop Abs and Rockin Body. I would find myself cracking up big time in Rockin Body because he would use a sing song voice as he is walking you through the moves. It's hilarious. I didn't enjoy Hip Hop Abs. I did enjoy Rockin Body. I am on T25 Beta…
  • Just say that you are doing spring cleaning and cleaning out the closet so you can buy some new stuff. Ask her if she wants any of it before you donate it. If the stuff is cute, she will be interested. My sister in law and I have no problems with that.
  • I know how it is to be sore. I do it every other day regardless. Unless I just feel so weak, then I take 2 or 3 days off.
  • I do them. They are my preferred exercise. I do them every other day and do cardio on the off days.
  • I do barre dvds at home. I burn between 175 and 350 calories per DVD and wear an HRM as well. I like the results for my seat (more lifted), my waist is smaller, and my arms and legs are more toned. I didn't feel it worked my abs as well as something like Pilates, but I may not have given it long enough before trying other…
  • What barre dvds do you have? The toughtest I have tried are Physique 57, The Dailey Method Express workout, and The Bar Method Dancer's Body Advanced Workout, and the Fluidity Real Class DVD with the three separate New York classes.
  • I'm 5'2" and 118 lbs. I was 125 lbs. But, for about 10 years, I weighed between 102 and 110 lbs. I have slowly gained weight because of a sedentary lifestyle and not watching what I eat. I am at a period where I'm not really trying to actively lose right now -- but I'll get back on track in the next month. I like to drop a…
  • I agree with ^^^. I use digifit, which now syncs with Myfitnesspal. It syncs the calories I've burned. I do wear a chest strap, but I really don't notice it -- especially under a sports bra. I forgot to add that I got mine for $65 on Amazon.
  • Turbo Jam feels more martial artsy with a touch of dance for flair. I burn about 200 to 300 calories for a 30 to 40 minute Turbo Jam. If I do Zumba High Intensity for about an hour, I can do 450 to 500 cals. Depends what you like for a workout. Zumba is more dance than Turbo Jam.
  • That looks pretty good to me. I wish somebody would try it and tell me if it was good.
  • I think people can make their own decisions about food and additives as there are animal studies that have been performed out there. About 20 years ago, I dated a guy that drank 24 cans of diet soda a day. He didn't drink water. I used to just take a sip from his can now and then, but it would equate to a can or two a day.…
  • Yolk. I have an egg patty every day. The yolks are so good for you. If you are worried about cholesterol, eat a lot of grains.
  • Of course they do. They all love back hair that is super long. And, it is really a win if you can braid it.
  • Also, when you go to the pool area, make sure to wear a speedo and stuff it with a sock. That is a sure winner. And make sure you don't get rid of any extra hair if it is sprouting out of your back. You could even braid it.
  • OMG! Perfect. That one always works. I had an ex-family member who used to do that when we would go on a boat. He wore these old short shorts, and his balls would pop out. Another thing he would do is when he would need to lift a really light box, he would flex his guns like it was an effort to lift it, thus making his…
  • Some men are intimidated, but not all of them. It would scare a lot of men for a woman to be aggressive, more successful, smarter, make more money, etc:laugh: . If you like the types of men that are intimidated by that, then show your softer side and allow them to think that they are the hunter (even though you already…
  • I really like Dance style workouts, too. The following come to mind -- some of them are instructional though. Bellyfit (they have a sale right now) Buti Fitness (Yoga with booty shaking) New York Bellydance or Cheeky Girls Productions have a lot of bellydance dvds Jennifer Galardi has some dance dvds that are fun I have…
  • Maybe try some tend skin for ingrown hairs. European Wax Center also sells products to exfoliate. A lot of people who wax get ingrown hairs, and there are lots of products on the market to prevent or reduce the number of them. I bet if you bought a product with alpha hydroxy acids, it also might help with exfoliation and…
  • When I go above and beyond normal activity and know that I will want/need to eat a little extra, then I log part of the activity. My job is sedentary, and I don't generally log cleaning, shopping, etc. But, sometimes, I do a deep cleaning and lots of laundry. 1200 calories is not enough for that day as I'm moving for…
  • I know a lot of people feel that supplements are not helpful, but I had a girlfriend who ate 1200 calories, ran for an hour a day, and she was heavy. Her doctor put her on a couple of supplements, and the next time I saw her, she had lost 20 lbs. One of them was raspberry ketones. The doctor said her metabolism had slowed…
  • For me, the hardest time of the day is breakfast. If I don't eat a good breakfast, I am too hungry at lunch and i keep snacking and overeat. I try to do about 350 cals and make sure to have fiber and protein together. I like breakfast sandwiches -- Ezekiel English Muffin with an egg patty and cheese and arugula. I'm hungry…
  • I'm on 1200 cals a day and strive to burn 300 or so cals through exercise. I eat back some of the exercise cals or even go over a bit, and I've lost weight. Slowly but surely. I like to make sure I have a lot of fiber and have protein with meals. I also try to eat more veggies.
  • Well, I still eat the bad stuff once in a while -- and I have had a lot of cookies this last week. I just try to substitute fro yo for ben and jerry's and only eat kettle cooked at either a party or pms -- and I try to watch portions. I still eat pizza, but I try to portion it out or eat less. I am just trying to choose…
  • Vitamix's website has a lot of smoothie and soup recipes that should work just fine in a Blend Tec.
  • I made some and didn't follow a recipe. First, I make a roux with the butter, flour, and milk. At the same time, I sautee a little garlic and an onion. Once the roux is bubbling, I add some milk and some chicken stock or broth. (I don't use cream because of the calories, but I do use butter for the flavor). Once the soup…
  • Instead of water, use chicken broth. Throw in a sauteed onion, some frozen peas (closer to the end of it's cook cycle), garlic, salt, and pepper. You can add any chopped veggie and it will be great.
  • The best ways I have ever had it are as follows: Spaghetti Squash with 4 prawns that are lightly sauteed with olive oil, lemon, garlic, salt, pepper, and red chili flakes. Mix that with the spaghetti sauce and top it with a handful of spinach leaves -- that get slightly wilty because everything is warm, parmesan cheese,…
  • I recently bought a couple of pair of Kirkland brand reversible yoga pants for $20 each and a 2-pack of champion brand sports bras for $25 from Costco. I don't think the sports bras are high support -- probably medium support -- but fine for the aerobics I do. I can't speak to longevity, but they seem like they are decent…
  • Lucy has some great sales. I have some capris and yoga tops that I bought from them. I used them for 8 months going to yoga every other day. Everything has held up well and is nice quality. Now, their regular prices are expensive. I only shop the sales.
