  • Yes I think ice cream is required for weigh loss with the cake fast but it has to be cookie dough
  • Hi! I am also in recovery for atypical anorexia and I just had my second child (a boy. My oldest is a girl) soi know how hard it is and would've glad to lend some support
  • That's astonishing! Wow something to be super proud of and it's even better they did it together :)
  • I'd give it at least 8 weeks and reassess. It sounds like you're doing everything right. With the lifting just make sure you're weights are heavy enough that you can't do more than 8-10 reps on an exercise. It will help you maintain muscle mass while you lose weight and after you get closer to your goal you can focus on…
  • I'm not currently nursing but I am due August 30th and will be breast feeding. I nursed my daughter until she was 18mo and lost 93lbs in the process so feel free to add me and just reference this post so I don't accidentally decline please :)
  • There are people who don't hate Sansa?! :noway: ETA the smiley
  • I think they expect you to exercise and eat those calories back. You can set it manually 1800 sounds a lot better to me.
  • If you don't weigh your food with a scale, get one and start doing it. You may be eating more than you think. You should be losing on 1500 since that's not nearly enough for a man of your size. I'm a 5'6" woman and at 112lbs I lost eating 1500 calories. ETA: you don't sound overweight to me btw. I would suggest building up…
  • I do p90x and insanity and I aim for 5-6 days per week. Rest days are important so your body can repair but on my rest days I, not just sitting around. I usually go for a walk or do some extra cleaning.
  • I would tell her. Chances are, she may have noticed that you have an 'unconventional' pattern of eating just as you have with her. I know how hard it is to tell someone about your struggles but it sounds like she's the kind of person who will support you. While the relationship is new, you have the benefit of having known…
  • I'm nearly done with my 3rd round of p90x (classic version which is the weight lifting plus a little cardio but I stopped doing cardio a couple of weeks ago) my last 2 rounds were the lean version (mostly cardio and not a lot of lifting). I wasn't looking to lose weight, just reduce my BF%. I know this isn't your goal but…
  • I'm a clean eater too. I get everything from Tesco online (lots of dry beans, lentils, chickpeas, couscous etc etc etc) and I Mae me food from scratch. It's actually very easy and quick. Check out bbcgoodfood.com for ideas. I end up cooking a lot of vegetarian meals and we eat meat 1-2x per week to keep costs down. They…
  • That's what I do too! Wish there was a fresh food market near me. I went to one in London a couple of weeks ago and I was shocked how low the prices were.
  • At one point I tried to find a affordable meal replacement shake with no luck. So I just went with protein powder as I'm usually low in protein. Maybe a good option for you would be to get some protein powder and just make a double batch of smoothie in the morning. That way it won't take any longer and you have breakfast…
  • Not to be discouraging but it's more likely that you're body is retaining water. When you start a new exercise program your muscles stores water to help them recover. It's extremely hard for women to gain muscle and if you're not lifting heavy and in a calorie surplus you won't be gaining it. Lifting in a deficit is still…
  • ^^this. When I started doing squats and lunges etc my legs looked a bit bigger even though the measurements didn't really change. But I kept doing them and now they have muscle and are thinner than before I started. I always used to start, freak out because they were getting muscle, and stop. I didn't this time and I'm…
  • This^^ I used the precision engineered protein powder from H&B and optimum is the same price (actually, half of the price at the moment as its on sale) and its way better. I get mind off of amazon. If you want so etching just for today at lunch, get a pre made drink. They have a recovery drink at morrisons that isn't…
  • It's hard to say without knowing your TDEE but I'd imagine 1800 calories isn't maintenance for you. In which case, I'd keep them at 1800 each day. You'll need that fuel for recovery and to have energy to do insanity in the following days :)
  • These are my answers for when I used the MFP method of logging exercise calories. I never ate back my calories and I got quite obsessive about exercise. Often doing 3-4 p90x and insanity DVDs per day to get my burn higher. I'm intrigued - Does this work for you in terms of motivation? Yes (if you mean motivation to…
  • Ensure? I'm not sure if it has dairy or not...maybe something like that? My grandma used to drink it because she couldn't eat much either.
  • Agree!
  • You're also weighing the food you ate because you don't expel everything from the day before. So that's why it's best to just weigh one day per week at the most and always at the same time after using the bathroom
  • Wow! So emotional and amazing. *gets off the couch to do workout*
  • How are you measuring body fat?? If its a scale then stop and get callipers and a trained person to measure you. 1200 isn't enough. You've only been doing it for 6 days, give it time. It's normal to put on water weight when you start a new intense exercise program because your muscles store water for repair. Sugar won't…
  • It's an exercise DVD by beachbody.
  • Bump.....?
  • Honestly St Moriz is amazing. You can get it off of amazon and its cheap as well. It goes dark when you put it on so you can immediately tell if you've missed a spot. I've used so many tanning lotions, sprays, and gradual tanners over the years and I won't go back to any of them. I had been using fake bake which is really…
  • Ugh, hubby loves being scratched and I absolutely LOATHE doing it. Seriously he askew fir it like 10x per day even if I do it every time and its so gross. I can feel his dead skin underneath my nails. You couldn't bribe me enough to do it anymore!
