  • I'm here with you, lending support and encouragement if you need it! I'm on my second 30 day program and very happy with the results. (23 lbs and about 54" released!) The cleanse days (which I just finished) are the hardest, but they are also getting easier. I've grown to love the taste of the shakes!
  • Would love to join! This will be my second month on my new lifestyle/eating and exercise program, and I have a feeling I'll need a bit of motivation from others. Last month, I tried to exercise at least 2 days per week. This month, I would like to increase to 4 days per week. Here are my stats: SW (on 3/1/14): 308.9 CW:…
  • It is very hard some days--but don't give up! Maybe allow yourself a little treat day every once in a while? I try to focus on how much better I feel, and on how lose my clothes are. Also, I'm trying to put only good foods in my body, and I've worked so hard to clean out the toxins, that I don't have much desire to eat…
  • Welcome! You can do it! Logging food and exercise on MFP really helps. Finding an eating plan that works for you also makes it easier. I'm trying to avoid processed foods. Sometimes that seems to "clog up" the body and make it harder to lose weight. I just sent a friend request to you; would love to offer encouragement as…
  • I can relate, Deb. I'm in my 50s. My weight was fine in college, because I went to school on a large campus and had to walk everywhere. But after that, I got a job and had less time (and motivation) to work out, so gradually the weight added on, and added on... I joined MFP last winter and lost about 10 lbs in a couple of…
  • I just started Isagenix a week ago--am thrilled with the results. Today is the start of my 2-day cleanse (my representative suggested I do 7 days of shakes to prepare for the cleanse, especially since I ate consumed caffeine and sugars.) Any advice for dealing with the cleanse days?
  • Look in the spice section of your store for "Greek seasoning." It is wonderful! My kids don't like the way my husband makes scrambled eggs, but they love the way I make them, because I add Greek seasoning. Adds a delicious flavor to the eggs! Actually, I use it on many foods to enhance their flavors -- veggies, meats, etc.
  • That sounds delicious!
  • What I've done is turn down the volume on the DVD, then turn up the volume on my CD player! I walk to some of my favorite upbeat music. Sometimes I just don't want to hear the talk, although Leslie is motivating!
  • I've been on MFP for about a month, and have been using Leslie's DVDs on and off for several years. But now I'm getting back to it, hoping to be more consistent, and hoping to build up my walk. (I'm currently just doing the easy 1 mile walk since it's been a while.) They are great DVDS!
  • Eating more veggies. I notice that when I don't eat enough of them, my weight loss stalls.
  • Wow, these are wonderfully inspiring stories! Thank you to everyone for sharing them.
  • Me! I'm 52 and need to lose a lot of weight -- tired of being tired and the fact that I can't keep up with my kids' super busy schedule! Feel free to add me as a friend.
  • I wanted to add one other comment. I'm not an expert--just my thoughts. Personally, I would stay away from the philosophy that once you have eaten your balanced diet and are still under the calories, you can finish up with anything your heart desires--cake, cookies, etc. I think that since I've started eating better foods…
  • Yes, as others have said--add sunflower seeds, walnuts or other nuts to your salad. Perhaps a tblsp of peanut butter with celery and other vegies for a snack? It seems that whenever I include nuts as my snack, I don't have a problem getting close to my daily requirement (although I am under sometimes, but not too much.)
  • I'm new here; just been on this board a couple of weeks, so I don't have the wisdom of some of the other posters. But I've been struggling with my weight most of my life, too. I wonder if you just need to change your eating patterns a bit? Before I was tracking calories with MFP, I was eating very little, but what I was…
  • I just joined a couple of weeks ago. Have been following the Mediterranean diet and it is working great so far. I didn't realize how much junk I was putting in my body before in the form of processed and fast foods. I feel more energetic and I haven't really started a workout program yet. Would love to add some support…
  • Me too, I also need to lose 100 pounds. Well, actually more than that! It seems overwhelming, so I'm trying to focus on one day at a time.
  • I homeschool my 10 year old daughter; my 13 year old son goes to private school. I'm new to MFP. Have been here about a week using the calorie tracking area. Will start logging my exercise today. This is our third year of homeschooling. Last year was exhausting; she likes to argue with me about everything and we wasted too…
