  • I was successful with MFP several years ago -- lost close to 100 lbs. Some of it has crept back, and I'm determined to take it off, plus some, to get to my ideal weight. I recently had a health scare (cancer) but it's gone now. During that process, I realized how much extra weight can make you vulnerable to cancer. So I'm…
  • You can do it! Think about how much energy you will have when you've lost your desired weight and met your exercise goals. I find that the healthier I eat and the more I exercise, the better my attitude. I feel like I can accomplish anything! Same will be true for you. Just start with those baby steps and keep at it!
  • Thanks everyone. Some excellent insights! Thank you brianpperkins for that info. on HR ranges. I've often wondered if the whole "fat burning range" was misleading. The more I work out, the easier the "fat burning zone" is to achieve, and sometimes it doesn't feel like I'm really pushing myself. I'm still on the fence about…
  • I love my Ninja cooking system. Makes the most delicious meals--not only crockpot meals! But even for crockpot meals, you can brown the meat in it first, then switch it to crockpot setting and add the other ingredients, then set the timer for how long you want it to cook. I've even used the Ninja to make steam baked…
  • I'm up for the challenge! Some days I get in 3 miles, some days less. So this will help me stay motivated to walk/move for at least 3.5 miles every day!
  • 30-day plan here too, although it's a long term thing for me as I have a lot of weight that I want to lose, in addition to build a stronger core, more muscular strength, and improve my overall health. I started in March and have lost about 72 lbs and more than 100 inches overall. Do love the energy the program has given me!
  • I use Digifit, especially for cardio workouts. I just pick the workout, tap it when I start, and tap it when I finish. It syncs with MFP. I use Full Fitness to record more details (e.g., type of machine used, amount of time on the machine, calories burned, distance traveled, etc.) I can also put notes in Full Fitness. I…
  • I may be too late, but thought I would respond for your next cleanse. Do you eat the Isadelight chocolates? They helped me during my first cleanse especially, when I felt a headache coming on.
  • Please feel free to add me! I'm especially looking for active MFP'ers who like to post and comment. Let's live this journey to a healthy lifestyle together!
  • Yes, I've been using Isagenix since March. It has been successful for me. I've lost about 64 lbs and more than 100 inches over my whole body. But the best part is that I have so much more energy! And I've noticed there's a nice glow under my complexion. Wishing you a successful journey!

  • What type of food are you eating? Is it mostly fresh veggies, some fruit, poultry, limited red meat? Avoiding processed foods? Sometimes processed foods really do crazy things to our bodies and fight against us losing weight.
  • My son talked me into buying Nike Free Run shoes. Best investment ever! They are the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. I wear them for walking and working out (I don't jog or run). They are expensive, unfortunately, but I found some on clearance online. I think if you check around you can sometimes get "last year's…
  • So very, very inspiring! Thank you!
  • You can do it! I never thought I could lose weight, but with willpower, exercise and right eating, it is possible! Feel free to friend me if you would like. (I've lost 60 lbs since March. Started at 308 lbs.)
  • It sounds like your mind is focused on much more pressing matters--like getting drinking water! You are probably just tired from the stress of the hurricane and its effects. I go through periods where the loss is just a number on the chart, too, especially if there are a lot of other things going on. Don't worry--your…
  • I have used Polar for quite a few years and really like them. I currently have a Polar H7, which is just the strap I wear around my diaphragm and sync to my phone to see my calorie burn, etc. (It can also sync to Digifit, which I like, because Digifit syncs to MFP so I don't have to manually enter my walking or gym…
  • 35 lbs. is a great job! Your body is probably adjusting. I think it happens to most people, at least from what I've read on here. I started at about the same weight, and when I lost about 30 lbs., my weight stalled and then I gained about 4 lbs. But after my body adjusted and I changed up things a bit, I started to lose…
  • A lot depends on your starting weight, but most people's experience is that they don't get comments until they have lost about 30-40 lbs. I didn't start getting comments until about 40 lbs. were lost.
  • Are you drinking enough water? Getting enough sleep?
  • i just sent you a friend message so we can support each other.
  • I agree with PinkinAngel about clean eating. When I cut out processed food, and food with high carbs and high sugar, my taste buds began to change. After going 30 days, I no longer craved donuts, cakes, iced coffee drinks, etc. If I did try them again (and it was usually with moderation), those foods were a disappointment.…
  • Sent you a friend request -- perhaps we can encourage each other!
  • Wow, that's great! What a wonderful feeling!
  • I also sent a friend request
  • great job! Very inspiring!
  • I've used both and haven't noticed much of a difference (as far as losing weight more quickly on one versus the other). But maybe it's just me. I've been reading articles about maximizing your weight loss, and it looks like it is better to do bursts of high intensity (on either machine), followed by a slower pace, then…
  • I've used them in the past, mostly the 1 mile one. But I'm thinking about pulling them out again.
