  • I've been supplementing w/whey protein for nearly six months. I lift heavy, do HIIT cardio, eat about 2000 cal/day and have lost 28lbs, over 10 % bf, and gone down 4 sizes in clothes. Women do not have the genetics to be bulky. There are several different kinds of whey protein though. Check this out if you want to make…
  • I've been doing a lot of research into this too. The idea here is that the flatter shoe the more grounded you are to push through your heals or toes. This is why you'll find many people who life, lifts barefoot. Weightlifting shoes are rather expensive. Some people where the 5 finger shoes, or chuck's. Personally, I don't…

  • Something similar happened to me in the beginning. I wasn't losing weight despite changing my eating habits, increasing calories and working out. When your body gets accustom to so little calories it falls into starvation mode. You have to correct the problem b/f you will start to see the scale move. It took about a month…
  • I too have about 20lbs left if you go by the numbers. I'm more concerned about bf% and inches now than anything else. If you start lifting and do it correctly, you will speed up your metabolism and burning fat. You may not see a big # change, but you will definitely see a change in you body size and shape. A lb is a lb…
  • good for you!!!!! I did the same contest and followed LivFit trainer. Keep up the great work!!!!! I always think it is so funny when women think they are going to bulk up lifting weights. How is that even possible when a lb of muscle is smaller than a lb of fat?!?!? I love lifting!!!!!!
  • you should be getting 1-1.2 grams of protein per lb. of body weight.
  • I'm 5'6 SW - 175.6 GW - 140 (I'm really not too focused on the number whether it lower or higher, I just want to be healthy and have lots of muscle definition) I really don't know what you would call my body shape. I'm pretty proportionate in my opinion. I carry most of my weight through my legs and butt but I'm not a…
  • I wear my workout clothes all day if I'm working out later in the day. Really they are the only clothes that fit well these day from losing weight. However, I DO NOT go ANYWHERE in sweaty gym clothes after a workout. I can't stand the feeling and can't get to a shower fast enough.
  • I started out with Target's Market Pantry Whey Protein. I went with vanilla b/c I could doctor it up anyway I wanted. It was very good tasting and low carb, low sugar too.
  • I turn 4-0 this year as well and start my health journey on Jan 6. I'm determined to be fabulous and 40 and run circles around my kids. Feel free to friend me as well. You got this, girl!
  • I told myself that when i break the 160 mark, I'm getting new sneakers. I stepped on the scale yesterday and I'm 1/2 a lb away......what a tease......lol. I'm guessing that goal is going to be achieved by next week. I'm thinking I better set up the next one. I like the "new tattoo" idea.
  • years ago, I used to do cardio first and weight training after BUT everything that I have read lately, has said to do weight training first, then cardio. You'll have more strength and better form (which will decrease your chance of injury) b/c you will not be as fatigued as you would be if you did cardio first. This is…
  • sunflowers..............love sunflowers!!!!
  • I use ground flax seed in my greek yogurt. I have been wanting to try chia seeds and hemp hearts too. Where did you buy them? I found the ground flax seed at Trader Joe's.
  • I mix 1/2 plain w/1/2 of a container of one of the greek yogurts w/fruit and add ground flaxseed. I also love the plain as a substitute for sour cream. I will never buy sour cream again.
  • I made it through 2.5 weeks of Insanity. It's fantastic as you know but i didn't really enjoy it. Then I found Les Mills Combat. I love love love that. In the past 3+ weeks, I have started doing a hybrid of Les Mills Combat and Pump. I have seen a big difference in my muscle definition and strength. However, I will say…
  • Les Mills Combat, Les Mills Pump, Jillian Michaels 30 day shred, JM Shred it w/weights.......all great stuff!
  • Great job!!!!!! you should be very proud of yourself and just think of the wonderful example you are setting for your baby girl
  • Have you read The 4 Hour Body? Depending on what your regular diet is, it may explain your loss for one binge. It's a good read. I'm not completely through it but it explains a lot.
  • This is my second ninety day challenge. I love the ease of just making a shake and not worrying about what to eat for breakfast or lunch. I definitely feel better on the shakes. I drink them for breakfast and lunch, snack a few times a day with healthy snack and have a sensible dinner. The first time I did the challenge, I…
