  • Also our instructors do a great mixture of hip hop, Latin, & pop songs so it gets changed up a bit by the different styles of music. One of our old instructors even threw in a country song one night & it was so much fun!

  • I LOVE LOVE LOVE Zumba! I am a member @ a gym that teaches 7-8 classes a week & I try to attend 5 of them. It is so much fun! We have 3 different instructors with 1-2 that fill in from time to time. I like it because with each different instructor, we get different songs & so it's not the same, monotonous, boring exercises…

  • Ooh the pizza grease always gets me! It makes me sick . If I ever happen to order a pizza for my family, I always say to to easy on the sauce b/c that seems to cut down on so much of the grease. But even @ that, if I eat any, it's usually only 1 slice.
  • So are you saying that we eat around what our BMR is in calories and then make sure we are burning calories, but don't calculate those in to eat back? EX. My BMR is 1404, so do I eat 1404 and then if I burn 400-600 calories in a workout, don't eat those back. So say I burned 400 calories in a workout, I have a caloric…
  • I've been having one of those weeks (well actually March has been rough period) with my weight loss. Not that I've gained any (not lost any either). You see, I was running with some friends & one of the girls was "training" us b/c she is a Pilate instructor. Well she decided to start working out w/ her husband who goes at…
  • I'm a happily married 31 year old whose been married for 10 years (this year) and we have two kids, a 5 year old daughter & 2 year old son.
  • I am a SAHM and could use the support!!! I have been watching calories & exercising since January but I've hit a point where it's just not as easy as it once was. My motivation has taken a back seat to some stresses that are beyond my control but that I'm still stressing about.
  • I try and order salad w/ a light dressing usually just oil & vinegar & a tad bit of salt. I'll order something grilled & try to just eat half of it. If I choose to order a baked potato (which I love), I won't order it loaded, just butter & sour cream, then I won't eat all of it. There are ways to get around going out to…
  • I think it's great. It's really hard to do. I've only fasted with our church a few times but I think it is def. worth it. It will give you that time to rely on the Lord & really have a much closer relationship with Him! Good luck & I'll be praying that although you will be cutting out a lot, that you will still be healthy!
  • Ahh that's why my scale was up this morning!
  • I had my last Diet Dr Pepper on Dec 31st & cut them out totally Jan 1st. I was very addicted to my Dr Pepper & Diet Dr Pepper. I lost a fast 9 lbs. Now it's coming off a little slower but I think cutting them out was a HUGE factor in my weight loss.
  • I am 5' and I think it stinks b/c every little pound shows up. I could gain 5 lbs & would be able to tell a difference in my clothes. But it's harder coming off. I've lost 8 lbs & am still wondering when I'm gonna notice a difference.
  • The snacking is a hard thing for me, but I need something small to curb that need for a snack mid afternoon. I love carrots & will use that as well, but need some variation. @ Ebergmann- I don't have a Costco anywhere nearby. Anywhere else I can get one?
  • I think you both are right, a cheat day is a little much but taking a meal off or even snacking on something I've been craving doesn't sound so bad. I was WAY over my calories yesterday & I didn't even overeat, that's the sad thing. I just didn't make smart choices when I ate. I honestly had no idea how much fat, calories,…
  • I am in the same boat. My dad was diagnosed with cancer 4 years ago & it has come back every single year even though treatment & God's hand of protection has healed him each & every time. Well we didn't get very good news this week & I have been extermely stressed out. I can't sleep, therefore I don't have the energy to…
  • I never gained weight while on the mini pill with either. As a matter of fact, I lost weight. But then again I was overweight before I got pregnant with both kids & pregnancy and breastfeeding were the best weight loss program I had. Hehe. But to answer your question honestly, no i never gained weight while breastfeeding.
  • I've been trying to do a little something everday but yesterday I just couldn't muster up any energy to do anything. Even if I am just doing sit ups & jumping jacks or playing a Wii game, I feel like I'm doing something productive & more than I was doing before I started my weight loss journey. I am certainly feel better…
  • I breastfed both of my kids & I was always told to take the mini pill and that any other form of birth control pill would decrease & possibly eliminate altogether my milk supply. I would be insistent on continuing the mini pill no matter what the nurse says.
  • No you don't need the Wii Fit board. @Angel2296- thanks for the info. I couldn't figure out how to come up with the calories according to how many points I was accruing. I'll do that next time I play the 2nd one.
  • WIth my 1st pregnancy I had some majorly horrible abdominal pain (and that was right at being late on my period). Plus I had a really awful sinus infection that I just couldn't get rid of for like 3 weeks. With my 2nd pregnancy I had horrible lower back pain for over a month. It didn't matter how I was sitting or what I…
  • I would def. recommend the crackers that evryone is recommending. For me, the chips are my weakness. I don't really get cravings for anything sweet but its the savory & salty stuff. So having that crunch would fool my tastebuds into thinking that it is actually a chip.
  • The best time of day to weigh is first thing in the morning, completely naked, after you have used the restroom. I weighed myself the other night just for kicks & I was mad at myself for even doing it. And also only try to weigh once a week. For me, any other time is just a discouragement & I feel like I either have to go…
  • Today I was proud that I turned away Dr Pepper.....my #1 weakness. I have a 2 liter sitting in my fridge & everyday I look at it & think "well just one glass" but know that I don't need it. I have 2 more days until I've been 2 full weeks without any & I plan to meet my goal.
  • Oh never mind, I need to read more- it says fresh or frozen.
  • Yum! I may have to try that. Only I only have frozen cauliflower (with broccoli in as well). Would that work?
  • #122 1. Drink at least 5 (8oz) of water EVERYDAY this week. 8/5 drank 2. Do 6 Sets of 15 Sit-ups 3 out of 7 days this week. 6 sets done day 3 done 3. Get 30 Min of cardio at least 3 out of 7 days this week. Did 10 mins of cardio- not quite hit goal but I did way more than 30 mins yesterday. 4. Cut 100 calories from your…
  • I'm still lost. How are you supposed to lose weight if you are eating back the calories you burn? Like the poster said, on biggest loser they say the goal is to burn more calories than you eat so you can lose. So is that only in cases of extreme weight loss like they are doing on biggest loser? It's hard for me eat back…
  • Oh and congrats on 25 years together! Not many people can say they've made it that far these days & it's always nice to hear those that have made it that far! I'm 10 years into my marriage & I look forward to 15+ more years w/ my hubby!
  • I would say to ask your hubby for a heads up on where you will be eating & then google the menus with nutrition facts. There are tons of websites out there with nutrition facts to most chain restaurants. Otherwise I'd say, enjoy it. You only have a 25th wedding anniversary once! You can always compensate the next day by…
