Used to play MTG. Mostly just read fantasy and sci-fi novels now. Play a lot of strategy board games with my friends. Oh and like a few others have said, DBZ.

Nice work!

The thing is if you love it, you should never cut it out completely from your diet. Make sure to incorporate it some time during your weekly eating. This will help with the nom nom bom fest. Keep working hard, you can do it.

I hope you eating back your exercise calories if you are only eating 1200.

One more question I do have, If strength training is about 300 calories/hr, and let's say I go for about 45 minutes with all these exercises mentioned above, I don't think I'm doing enough work to burn 300 calories- maybe like 100-150? Thoughts? My fitbit tells me I burn about 120 or so calories on the elliptical and about…

What most people have said. One day out of many. Don't change your diet if it has been working for the other days. What you need to do is figure out why you binged. Is it because you've been denying yourself for so long? Maybe you need to incorporate a little bit of what you love into your diet.

1. How would I track calories burned? I know strength training doesn't burn a lot of calories, so is it worth it to even track them? Yes you should. Walking is about 200 calories burnt in an hour. Strength training is about 300 calories. 2. How would my calorie intake/nutrition work? I've done some research and I…

Gained 2kgs!!! Haha, not sure why. Could be due to all the carbs I've been eating, but 2kgs is a huge swing. See what happens next week with less carbs.
-
Yes. You should be looking to slow bulk which means eating approx 300 calories above maintenance. Once you get a good feel for what the portions equal then you can stop counting. Obviously if you go under, you won't gain muscle. If you go over by too much, say 800, you'll get fat as well as put on the muscle.

Looks like you are just doing light cardio. You don't need a rest day. None of those activities would stress your CNS (central nervous system). When you are lifting heavy weights or going HIIT (High intensity interval training), then you would need rest days in between. If you eat well (protein, some carbs) then you…
-
Yup. I hate cardio too. Only do it through social team sports.
-
Caution though. If you are not lifting heavy and eating enough protein you won't be losing pure fat. You'll be losing muscle and fat.

I know that Arnie is a bit of a womanizer, but I think what he says here is quite profound and a lot of women I speak to, still have this misconception that heavy weights = man sized muscles. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y4OXujrjcRk Starts around 1min 30

Yeah that is normal range. Unless you have heaps to lose, it shouldn't fall off that quickly. Slow and steady is good because it actually teaches you to eat and exercise properly.
-
8% ? Jeez! Good luck. Going to take a lot of dedication. I'm quite happy with my 10% =)

o i c, that sucks. Thanks for the info

If you feel like you are losing weight too quickly, make sure you don't do drastic changes (same goes with if you aren't losing weight). If you weren't eating back your exercise calories, I would start by eating half of them back and see where that leads you after 2-4 weeks. If you still feel like you are losing too much,…

Umm don't wear make up? How about some good shades and a hat instead?

Can you update your original post. That way, for people like me who are interested don't have to troll through the whole X amount of pages. Thanks!

I'm a school teacher, so my t-shirts become painting (art) aprons for the kids.

What was worked? I did and still do Intermittent Fasting. I'm on the 16 hour fast, 8 hour feed leangains.com program. I love it. I gave myself 1750 calories a day, but this moved to 1650 after some initial body weight loss. Exercise: I did heavy lifting 3 times a week and on another two days, I played social sports for 30…

How would you even gauge how much fat you are losing? Do you go to some measurement place? I used pictures to guide by body fat%, I lifted heavy and used this to gauge my muscle gain/loss. I lost at most 1 pound a week (total body weight).

What others have said...high protein. Add Fish Oil to your diet. You want stuff that is high in DHA and EPA not that crap they have in your supermarket. Aim to get around 2g of EPA and 1.5g of DHA. This helps protein synthesis and also slows down digestion which keeps you fuller for longer. Also, remember the term…

a workout should really take no more than an hour. This includes warm up. Anything else and you're fluffing about in the gym. playing on your phone (i'm guilty of this). Watching other people lift. getting a drink, have rest breaks that are too long etc. The list goes on. I do a modified Rippletoe Workout.

A high protein diet just makes you satiated for longer. However, what your doctor is doing is providing you protein through shakes and trying to get you full with veges. Essentially, you can eat your protein. Have a nice lean steak, go for chicken or better yet, turkey breast. Have lots of veges. Think about how much you…

Yes. You might get regular DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness) but that isn't a "bad" thing. Make sure to do a full body workout, lots of compound movements.

Hi! I'm someone that lost the 10lbs (12actually) to get to the body that I am very happy with. Started ~69kgs and am now at 62. Obviously my numbers are a bit different as I am a guy. Name: Epsilon height: 5'7" CW: 62kgs (137lbs) CBF: ~10% (about 15-16% on a lady) Check out my MFP blog. Happy to help out with any advice.

0.5kg (1lb) is realistic and a healthy way to lose weight. I would say your weight loss goal would be around 1300 calories. Any exercise that you do, you should eat back at least half of it (unless it is like a 10 minute run). Remember, you'll lose weight at this rate, but if you want to look toned, you should be lifting…

that's a lot of rice there, maybe 350-400 Spring roll at least 100 skewer 100 Pork/lamb chop? I would say maybe 120-150g of meat there. So like 350-400. Those veges are like nothing (not nothing but there is so little of it) Fish sauce maybe 50 So you're looking at like 950 to 1050, but obviously this is me looking at it…

Good on you for trying something different. However, "clean" eating isn't a term that can be bandied around. A vegetarian would call eating meat not clean eating. Paleo would call what you are trying not clean eating. What you are describing is "whole" foods.
