My pace ranges anywhere from just over 10 min/mile to almost 12 min/mile depending on how I feel, weather, etc. and I run anywhere from 1-3.5 miles 3-5 days a week. I try to do no less than 2 miles, but some days one mile is all I can get in.

I think the best exercise you can do, is one you like and can stick to! If you enjoy running, do that! But, yes... running is great for weight loss. Good-luck!! You can do it!!!

I've lost about 64 lbs and a big part of that was running, although I also used MFP to count calories. I'm now in the top end of healthy BMI but, I'm still "flabby". :ohwell: Running is great for weight loss, but I can say that most people aren't going to get toned from running alone.

That's a year to be proud of, for sure! :drinker:

Well done!! I agree, slow and steady is the way to go!

First off, I LOVE seeing everyone's year end results! We have a LOT to be proud of from 2013!! :drinker: I started MFP on Jan 17th 2013. 5'5" SW: 196 CW: 147 GW: 135 I had already lost 20lbs (by exercising alone) before joining MFP, so my known heaviest was that much more. :ohwell: Here's a face picture the day I started…

You are proof that where there is a WILL there is a WAY! Congrats on your success and best of luck with your upcoming surgery.

Congratulations!! The thing I love about running is that it's about “beating” yourself, not necessarily others. And you surely did that!!
-
Good job!! It is not easy, but there are so many milestones along the way to enjoy!! You are looking great!

I'm so sorry about your loss, it breaks my heart to think of what you must have gone through. Congratulations on finding what works for you and falling in-love with running!! I also love it! It's such a honest, productive thing.

Check out : http://www.mybodygallery.com/ I look at it for this reason often! :)

I'm sorry, I know how you feel as I went through the same thing. Just make sure you don't let it push you back into unhealthy living and it will pass.
-
Amazing!! What an inspiration you are! I just did my first 5K Saturday and feel great about it, but you are proving it is possible to do so much more when you set your mind to it! I love it!!

Nice!! I'm a bit jealous!! :drinker:

That's my favorite NSV, so I don't think it's silly at all. I LOVE being able to wear my rings and not feel like they're jammed on sausage fingers. Congrats to you and enjoy flashing that ring hand around!

Well done, you look fantastic!!!

Thank you everyone for the kind reminders and advice! It really means a lot. For me, I have a short waist and feel like the high waisted stuff will do me no favors, but I'm sure there is a middle ground? About weight lifting, I'm not currently doing it. I need to get back into it, I need to make it a priority. I don't…

ALL this! And welcome back! You can do it!!

Feels nice, huh?! Congrats!

"Super" cute outfit! Congrats on your run, what a great accomplishment!

You're pretty amazing. The weight loss is remarkable and you should be feeling very proud of yourself for that, but I also think you have a gift for writing. I'm envious!

This!

Thanks! A cankle is where your calf runs into your ankle with no or little distinguishable ankle.

Way to go, you've done really well! Make sure you have a little extra fun with dressing now, since you missed out in the earlier part of your life.
-
You're amazing, I really don't know how you do it!! Congratulations I hope you and your husband really enjoy the cruise!
-
WOW, well done!! You look so good. I wish I had some of your height!
-
Well done & congratulations, you are looking fantastic!! I have been wanting to try a color run, but the thought of breathing in the chalk worries me. Is no big deal?

I'm a little surprised by all the comments about how much younger I look, because only one person outside of MFP has said that to me. Maybe it's because they've seen the transformation slowly, over time vs the side-by-side before and after? It's a great thing though, so thank you again!

Thank you all!

Congrats on your sucess so far! It feels good, doesn't it? I love that you've found a renewed joy in being outside, as I have also. I run/walk around my neighborhood and it's been so eye opeing to see and feel different seasons (although I live in AZ so it's a subtle transistion from almost cold to hot - ha!) and I have…
