Well thank you very much! That's extremely helpful ... I'm still learning all the math stuff! :) Much appreciated!

Thanks :) To clarify -- "Protein -- 1 gram per lb of of lbm" ... what is lbm?

Me too!!! However, I've discovered Popchips. They are like chips without the fat. My favorite is BBQ and you can have 29 chips for 170 calories, which is a lot! I usually count out 15 and put the bag away. That seems to do it. Also, try getting a hot air popcorn maker. Really low cals there too!

Great advice on the weights! I'm going to buy some today so I can do weights at home. I work at a university and while I can use the gym for free, it's very difficult to get time on any of the equipment because it's always PACKED with students. (They're quite inspiring!)

My workout is general -- Monday - one hour of Yoga Fit (holding tough poses etc., no chanting LOL) Wednesday -- one hour of more traditional yoga (chanting, stretching, more for balance) Thursday -- one hour of Fitness Ball/Weights Sporadically, (one or two times per week), one hour of power walking. That's about it ...

Redkestral, I glanced at your diary. I think you're doing really well. Over the long term, I think you're going to do well even if you never made any changes. From here on out, I think all you need to do is tweak what you do now and then. Here's some things you could tweak in my opinion. Don't do all of these at once. Just…

Thank you very much everyone! I'm hearing all of you and will try increasing my calories to 1400 and see what happens there. I am doing weight training once per week (it's actually fitness ball and weights, but didn't know how to enter it except as circuit training). I think I'll go buy some weights so I can do some at…

Thank you ! I've just read it through and done the calculations -- and saved the link. Much appreciated!

I'd love any input! I'm 44, 5 foot 4 inches, workout 2-3 times per week, 175 pounds -- BMR is 1432 and TDEE is 1969.

Wow -- 20 pounds is still quite an achievement! I'm going to try upping my water -- even though I've been good at drinking about 6-8 cups per day. I've also heard that eating smaller meals throughout the day will help your body understand that it's not starving. Not sure what the answer is!

I've just made my diary public. Thanks! Hadn't noticed it wasn't ... I hope you're right and this passes soon!

Thanks :) I'll try upping the water intake! Any ideas on how long these tend to last?

May I suggest you discuss this with your doctor or nutritionist? 88 lbs is, in my opinion, way too low. Not having enough fat (brown fat, which coats your organs as opposed to yellow fat which is stored as extra energy) can lead to kidney and liver failure, and is very hard on your heart. Right now, your BMI is in the…

I weigh myself every morning after I wake up. Like some have said above, it helps keep me motivated and gives me a good idea of how I did the day before. I know it's not realistic to see it go down every day, due to water retention etc. On Sundays I measure myself (waist, chest, hips, thighs, arms and calves) which gives…

I work at Carleton University so I've been using the gym there, but I have to say that it's hard to get machines and the change room could use a makeover. That said, it's super convenient, and free as an employee. They are renovating now, so maybe in a year it will be much improved. I've toyed with the idea of trying The…

Ottawa Ontario here! And yes, cold here now -- so cold my furnace can't keep up. Minus 40 tomorrow with the wind chill. I can't even imagine.... brrrrrr. Great to see so many Canucks!

Hi everyone! I decided 3 days ago that this was the place for me! I heard about this website on Pinterest -- of all places! LOL. I can't believe what an amazing site it is! I've done the Weight Watchers Online thing before, and find this site to be far, far superior! I work at a desk and the "secretarial spread" has been…

Hi A, I signed up 3 days ago and am also completely obsessed. Seriously -- what an awesome site! It's so much better than Weight Watchers Online -- like 1000x! And it's FREEEEEEEE :) To answer your questions -- well the first question I can't actually answer because I've been logging my gym classes and yoga under cardio.…
