  • These are great ideas - my DH is going to start packing lunch more and I love your tips.
  • I love using the crock pot on nights where we know we want a long workout or we won't be home until later in the evening. I also don't like cream soups...here are few good ones (I always modify the ingredients to get the macros/calorie counts/lower sodium content, etc. that I want): Balsamic Glazed Pork (I use the balsamic…
  • I never though about implants before (I just always thought it wasn't for me and was something other people did). Now that I've had a baby and breastfed for a year, I'm reconsidering. I don't like the way I look anymore and I know once my son is weaned, it will get worse! Once I'm done having kids, I think I would at least…
  • I'm on Week 7 Day 1. I'm excited to do my first (hopefully of many!) 5K on May 11! I agree with what others have said - if you feel like you can do more, crosstrain on your off days. Doing C25K 3 days/week doesn't mean you have to take the other 4 days off. Running more can lead to injury, so even if you feel like you…
  • April Goals: 1. Weight loss: at least 6 lbs 2. Training: Finish C25K and continue to run 2-3x per week to prepare for May 11 5K 3. Finish Move2Lose Program (12 week YMCA workout class)
  • Actually, the CMR in Ohio is at King's Island - anyone else signed up for that one? I think someone local to Dayton is putting a team together.

  • Awesome job! Thanks so much for the inspiring post! I'm also in week 7 and have my first race on May 11, so it was great to hear someone else's story! :-)
  • Speaking from experience - I would definitely keep pumping. I'm in the same situation. I work from home and my son is 10 months - once he started really eating solids at around 7.5 months, he started refusing a bottle (not that he got many bottles anyway). I stopped pumping and now I'm having a hard time starting back up…
  • I love those things...I eat pretty much what I want as long as it fits into my calories, but I can not buy toaster strudels, pop tarts or oreos. Too much temptation to have in the house! But I would gladly eat one at someone else's house! :-)
  • Love this - thanks for sharing!
  • I'm on W6D3, so about two weeks left! I'm registered for Color Me Rad in Detroit where a friend lives on May 11. I'm also thinking of doing Color Me Rad in Columbus. I'd be excited for some 5K meetups in the Dayton/Cincy/Columbus areas!

  • I know Zumba is very popular and a lot of people love it. For me personally, I don't think it's that great of a workout and if I'm going to spend an hour away from my family, I want to feel like I got my butt kicked and like I really made the most out of the time. Even if you do it with intensity, it just doesn't feel like…
  • Me too! I got worried for a second that I was doing something wrong!
  • LOL @ ketones... And I don't know why you would post KK pics - that is evil. I can eat like 5 of those in a sitting. Must not go to speedway!
  • Hold the phone - why do you change it every time you pee?
  • I love soda and want to drink it all day long...I used to drink a TON of diet soda. For me, I understand that artificial sweeteners aren't healthy and I don't want to consume all the sugar from a regular soda, so my goal is to drink <1 diet soda per day. That keeps me from going nutty without overdoing it. The more I cut…
  • I always recommend going to an actual running specialty store and getting fitted for running shoes. However, it sounds like that might not be in your budget, so a few tips to get you through until you're ready to take that step (maybe later as a reward for sticking with your program!): For $50, you can probably find…
  • Great job - that picture is so beautiful!! That would keep me motivated for sure!
  • I've done it a few times. I'm currently in week 7 - it's a great way to get moving and to train yourself to run longer times & distances. I really like the set schedule and having the accountability to do it each week. Good luck!
  • Thanks for the heads up/reminder!
  • Love this!! :-)
  • I have mine listed in my profile - but I did 10 lb milestone rewards. So far, I've gotten a HRM & a new haircut/color. Once I get closer to my goal, I'm buying new workout clothes! The good stuff!
  • This is my third or fourth health & wellness site and I've found that's pretty common. Weight loss and overall health is one of those things that people will come and go from. Some people come and go several times a year, some people show up once and stay for the long haul. I try to just review my friends list and keep in…
  • We cosleep but I love having one for times when we're not in bed with him - such as when he's napping during the day or when he goes to bed at 9 but we want to be downstairs for a few hours after. It's definitely a good reassurance for me & I love that I can hear the second he's waking up or moving around. If he was…
  • Amen, sister! This is the best cheese EVER!!
  • Such a great idea!! Way to make someone's day! :-)
  • Peanut butter, fried mexican food, macaroni & cheese - all things I still eat but now my selections/recipes and portion control are much better!
  • LOL! This seems like a very good strategy - you know, just in case!
