I guess I'm the only one who read that as un-appropriate, figuring it was a typo for...nevermind.

I prefer 3 meals a day. 500-600 calories of protein and fat usually keep me satisfied for a good 4-6 hours.

I agree...bigger issues at play for sure.

That's now quite how it works. If you have high circulating blood sugar, then you should look at how you've been feeling with a suspicious eye. The only way to know that is to either test your BG yourself, or know what your A1c number is. I was diagnosed T2D and my lament was 'but I track on MPF and*never* go over the…

<3 Common sense at it's finest, right here.

And neither do we. All we can do is offer you a tidbit here or there if you care to investigate. Good luck.

I would put to you that both Doctors' advice should be heeded or at least investigated as they are both sides of the same coin. Neither doctor's assessment is 'sugar' vs. 'salt'. I didn't know I was Diabetic but looking back, I can see that the Insulin Resistance that precedes it, was clearly happening. About the sugar…

It depends on why you're doing LCHF. I don't pay attention to calories. I'm T2D and it's how I keep my BG's under control. I have caloric limits but don't adhere to them because I have specific grams of macros I need to meet. Protein first and foremost (about 100g), then below my carb limit (20 net g) and the rest I fill…

I have adult kids (25 & 18 yrs old) that both live with me & eat what I eat. I am the one who does the cooking in my house & but I don't make 'just' make keto foods. I make both keto & non keto items for meals & let everyone pick and choose what they'd like to eat. I'm T2D and sadly, one day, one or both of them may be…

Moderation is not for Diabetics, unless that's how they choose to manage their illness. Butter is *also* not bad for diabetics. Carbs are what raises blood sugar. The nutritional profile of your cheesecake will make it either diabetic friendly or not. There are no 2 ways about it. I make a regular cheese cake, just use…

No prob =) Just to be clear, it counts, but not enough to warrant the amount of calories either fitbit or MFP wants to give you. I've struggled with this in the past, that's why I have so much to say about it  Be on the look out for sales this up-coming holiday season. Target and Walmart often have them on sale. The…

I've counted total carbs to keep my BG in check, but now that I've got 2 yrs under my belt, I count net carbs to stay in Ketosis, as net works just fine to keep my blood sugars low. I'm currently doing OKL macros, and eating less than 20g of carbs per day (net) keeps my BG's in perfect range. I've lost about 2#'s since…

I agree, but now that I think of it, maybe it's because I have a short stride? I'm 5' tall, so 3 mph is a pretty quick clip for me and 3.5 is just short of 'jogging' while 4.0-4.5 is a full on jog. Forget 5.0....T Rex would have to be after me for that to happen  Doing as many dog walks as I do per day, with dogs…

I walk for a living (I'm a local dog walker) and at 3 mph (on a treadmill) I'm walking pretty fast, not slow enough to take in the sights, looking around, etc. As in, walking somewhere with a purpose, such as to meet a bus or something. As in, if I were walking a dog & she wanted to stop, I would have to stop short in…

Me too, have only been on XR Met. I've been on it for 2 years, 1500mg with dinner every evening. I didn't have any issues with it, with the exception of having a case of the trots for the first week I started. I hear the regular version can be tough on people but that the XR formulation is better tolerated.
