What's a little less weight loss for a month for much more in the following months? :)

I actually just asked this question because I didn't see this thread. My calculated BMR is ~2400, but MFP has me eating 1950 kcal/day at my 1000 cal deficit. Is this ok?

I curb my cravings with a cheat meal, not a cheat day mind you, once a week. Saturday nights I get to go out and eat something...less than desirable. By scheduling a cheat meal once a week I'm able to say to myself "That cake looks so good I'm totally going to have a piece saturday", and it gives me something to look…

I'd also not recommend weighing yourself every day. Your weight fluctuates so much day to day based on the amount you work out, the amount you eat, the amount you drink, etc, that it's not worth tracking day to day. I weight myself once a week, on friday mornings at the same time, and even then there are people saying that…

I hit a plateau about a two months ago, but I busted it by a) Changing my routine This one was the more important change. I had been doing pretty much the same thing for 3-4 months, treadmill and similar weight exercises. I came in and did the elliptical instead and tried out all new weight machines that targeted different…

I usually eat Life cereal or Frosted Miniwheats. Cereal isn't AMAZING for you in any form, except maybe fiber one, but those two are good enough to pass. My breakfast 5 days a week includes 2 servings, 1 1/2 cup, of life cereal, and 1 cup of almond milk. 300 calories. Not bad.

I say do what you want :) It's a cruise. The whole point of taking a vacation is to relax, and it's hard to do that when you are worry about calorie minutia. Give yourself a week off as a reward for being faithful to your routine, and enjoy yourself.

Down 3.2 lbs this week :) All the hard work paid off.
-
I lost 10 lbs my first week, but it was all water weight :( On a serious note, I have been losing ~2lbs a week as per my goals.
-
Very nice! I also totally dig the Anime Con pic.
-
Well, how do you factor in incline? lol :) I guess just dont use the calorie counter on the fitbit and use the one in the app?

Thanks for the replys guys! Quick question, does anyone know how well it works with Treadmills or Elipticals? I ask because Texas summers are brutal and I don't see myself doing a TON of outside cardio during the summer.
-
Thank you very much.

Start now :) I know it can be intimidating, but it feels great....after the first week or so. You are gonna feel like crap for the first week.

I do plenty of Cardio because it's not a great idea to lift 2 days in a row, at least from what I've been told. Also, sometimes I just don't feel like lifting. Either way, good aerobic exercise is great for your heart :P

Chest and back. I always feel drenched when I'm done with a workout.

After a couple of weeks of under 1 lb loss, I lost 3.6 lbs this week! Stupid water fluctuations lol.
-
I'm down 7.3% since the middle of january. Feels good.
-
I showed up at a garage sale my friends were putting on, and every one of them commented on my weight loss. That felt good.
-
Another 2.6 out the window! Wahoo!
-
I just passed my first milestone of 20 lbs. It feels great! Congrats!

I do heavy weight/low reps 2 nights a week, and Low weight/high reps 1 night a week (Or once every other week if I can't find time). Strength training has been shown to help in weight loss. Though during the actual training, you might not burn as many calories as straight cardio, your body continues to use calories long…

lost 1.8 lbs this week, which is actually my lowest loss to date but still pretty good. I'm sure both mine and my girlfriend's birthdays being this week had something to do with it :)
-
Ah, so I plan on doing Cardio 3 days a week and Strength training 3 days a week. Therefore I should set my goal to 3 days, just for my cardio?

Had turkey bacon for the first time today. It was pretty good.

I'm not eating at McDonalds, I was just giving a frame of reference. I'm trying to eat healthy, in fact I'm snacking on a Banana right now. I'm just coming in about 3-400 calories below my goal and I was just wondering if that was bad. I imagine it won't be nearly as hard to hit the goal once I get down to a more…

My question stems because I am 330 pounds and therefore it has given me a 2150 net goal. That's with a 1000 calorie deficit. With that calorie allotment I could almost eat at mcdonalds twice a day. But when eating healthy foods, fruits, veggies, grilled or broiled meats and whatnot, it seems like a lot of food to hit that…
