Hi Terry! I'm Liz. I'm trying to track my macros as well. Usually fall short on the protein though (I don't eat much meat and also trying to cut down on dairy). It's hard to have it all, isn't it ;) Hoping it will get easier overtime. I'll send you a friend request if you want to try to motivate each other.

Amazing transformation! And I love the message, 1 pound at a time <3

I agree, fruit water is great. Also, I love mint and lemon infused water in summer, it's so refreshing. I just take a pitcher of water, add 2 slices of lemon and some fresh mint leaves (I grow it in a pot on my balcony, very easy to maintain) and put it in the fridge for a couple of hours. I add more water to the pitcher…

Oh, and I forgot to add that open zipper in "before" picture was a really nice touch!

The best!!! :) After picture looks quite yummy too... :D

Perfect for stuffed zucchini! Cut length-wise, remove seeds. Scoop out until about 1/4 inch thick. Saute onions with garlic and scooped zucchini flesh, can add mushrooms or bell pepper. In separate pan brown ground beef or turkey. Mix all stuffing together, can add some cheese and egg too. Stuff zucchinis. Place in pyrex…

Maybe try to take him for walks? Dad and his little girl walking and having a talk? Also, do you eat together? If not that could be another "together" activity. You could cook something healthy and then eat it and talk. I think most people eat when they're stressed or bored, so keeping him busy, talking to him a lot, could…

30 Day Shred with not make you put up a lot of muscle, although you should be able to see nice definition. The important question though is: why do you care about your weight so much? Let's say you finish the program, gain some muscle, lose some fat, you lean out, lose inches, you're more fit, and more healthy. Would it…

One of my recent favorites, low calorie, low carbs, high protein. Cut up chicken breast in bite size pieces, in a bowl mix will a little bit of olive oil (I use 1 TBS oil for 2 chicken breasts), salt, lemon pepper seasoning (if you have it, if not regular black pepper), garlic powder, and cumin. Heat a non-stick pan, fry…

I have a polar FT4F (the last F stands for female version = smaller watch) and I love it! Measure yourself right below your bra strap and then compare to the maximum size of the chest strop listed with the product to see if you'd fit.

That sounds amazing! :)

These are fantastic! I like to use 2 cups of flour and 0.5 cup unsweetened finely shredded coconut, plus add 2 TBS of semi-sweet mini chocolate chips. http://www.kingarthurflour.com/recipes/100-whole-wheat-blueberry-muffins-recipe Haven't tried these yet but I definitely will: http://pinterest.com/pin/251779435390425715/ I…

I cut my squash in half length-wise, scoop out seeds and microwave on high for 9 min. Easy and fast. Well.. sometimes cutting it may be a bit challenging ;)

Lettuce (or baby spinach) + grapes + mushrooms + cucumber + green onion. Wash and slice mushrooms (I usually cut them first in half and then slice), sprinkle with salt and let stand for about 15 min (this way they will soften a little). Tear lettuce in piece, cut grapes in halves or quarters, chop green onion. Mix…

One more thing, I'm not sure what's your bra strap size, but you're a tiny person so I'll warn you just in case ;) If you're less than 32, the band that comes with Polar FT4F may be too large. I'm 32 and I have my HRM chest strap as tight as possible.

When I was researching HRM before getting mine I read that just watch is not accurate, it often loses the pulse, so you can't rely on it. I finally bought Polar FT4F (which is a female version of FT4, meaning the watch is a little smaller). It has a chest strap, but it's really comfy and I never had issues with it. The…

You could make your own burgers, like this http://allrecipes.com/recipe/blue-cheese-burgers/ or this http://allrecipes.com/recipe/actually-delicious-turkey-burgers/ or even black bean burgers http://allrecipes.com/recipe/homemade-black-bean-veggie-burgers/ and serve with whole wheat buns and fresh veggie salad. Or just go…

For me banana pancakes work best. I make them as breakfast or dinner, and since they're sweet they stop my cravings. There's many versions of banana pancakes, mine is: 1 egg white (3 TBS) 1/2 single serve container of apple sauce 1 small banana 1 scoop of vanilla whey protein 1/8 cup oats Mix everything in a blender (I use…

1. Chilli! Freezes excellent, I freeze serving size portions so it's easy to take out when needed. Saute onions, peppers, mushrooms (and whatever else you like) in a little bit of olive oil, then add tomato puree. I'm not a big fan of meat so I *kitten* tofu and beans as protein, but you could put pieces of chicken breast…

I'm not sure about the veggie one, but whole wheat or other whole grain basically has less calories and more fiber and protein, so from that perspective it's better for you. Last time I was buying tortillas I just compared the nutritional info from the package. Turned out that whole multi-grain tortilla has more protein…

Also, most people brown the garlic first, but I personally prefer to add it by the end because it's extremely easy to burn it, and burned garlic is not good. So to all my dishes I add garlic by the end of cooking (if it's a sauce or something with liquid there's no risk of burning so it doesn't matter, but for dry things I…

The answer to your question: YES, you can use much less oil if you use good non-stick skillet. I would do it like this: put cut mushrooms in the skillet (NO oil at all) over medium-high heat and fry until most water evaporated (they will release ton of water) mixing from time to time. Then add a little bit of olive oil…

That sound yummy!

Do you have any particular medical problem or it's just undiagnozed pain? I suffered from mysterious knee pain, as well as back pain which I associated with my scoliosis, and guess what? I cured both pains with exercise! :) And I did squats and lunges as well. A friend of mine advised me to use a mirror at the beginning to…

Thank you for the encouragement! As to protein, I don't eat much meat so I always struggle with getting enough protein. Maybe I'll try adding some whey protein to my daily menu.

Good luck! I just finished first week of Insanity. It was tough at the beginning, even though I've been doing Ripped in 30 and other DVD workouts prior to Insanity. My muscles were still sore, I gained a little on the scale (probably that's why wnbrice advised you to stay away from the scale) but I think it was water. I…

5 pounds in a week seems like a lot, and if you still keep your calorie goal more or less then it must be water retention. I've experience weight gain and bloated stomach when started Insanity. From what I read your body can store more water when exposed to intense workout. Unfortunately there are 2 opposite reasons for it…
