I once asked a woman when she was due. She teared up and said she wasn't pregnant. I felt so very very ashamed. I deserved to be sworn at and treated with contempt, but all she said was that it was a struggle for her and very painful to have people point it out. I have never asked anyone about their weight again.

Maybe you just need a new goal? You've done great.
-
You don't look weird. You are very pretty and have a very wry smile! Congrats!
-
Good work! I believe it's actually harder and requires more discipline to lose the weight slowly. Pretty well anyone can crash diet for a few weeks.
-
Actually you are losing . Half a pound a week is a sane and most importantly, sustainable rate of loss with your stats.
-
You are a total inspiration! Really, really well done!

I've done a bunch of classes over the years and I still look up sometimes and realize I'm going in the opposite direction than the rest of the class, or I lose count, or I lose my balance. It's nice when someone else giggles with you because we've (mostly) all been there. Go girl.

Me thinks this should be moved to the debate section.

I think it's time for a moderator to step in. OP feels addicted to carbs. This is not the debate section.

YES!!!!

I think the confusion is that some of the numbers in the categories represent the goal you want to try to meet (protein, fibre, etc.) while some others represent the maximum that you don't want to exceed (sugar, saturated fat, whatever)

That's a great calculator! Thanks!

Chipotle was very loud about being anti-factory farming and released an animated short. They raised the hackles of the largest meat processors in the country. And then suddenly there are all these nasty outbreaks. Hmmmmm.... I don't know but I do love a good conspiracy theory!

Puzzly words? I'm addicted and Wordsplay.net, also addicted.

I confess I want to throttle people who say "you can eat anything, just fit it in." I can't fit it in. I'm on 1200 #$^%& ing calories a day. It doesn't fit.

That's such a good and (hits self in the head) Doh! kind of hack. Does the salad really stay crisp and fresh for 7 days?

Diane The Geek - I have never read a post from you that is demeaning to the OP, and that is also true for many of the posters here that I recognize from other threads. You guys give good and thoughtful information and maybe you have some badly bitten tongues out there as a side effect. But many responses on threads are…

This is somewhat different - I cracked open my patella in August 2015 and gained 10 lbs on top of my extra 10 lbs because I felt sorry for myself and I wasn't paying attention to how much I was eating. But my brace came off in November and I am now doing the recumbent bike, treadmill, supported lunges, pilates and all the…

The post I was referring to is gone! Did I imagine it? I am not a supporter of weight loss supplements, but it was really unnecessarily rude, and I should have quoted it. But no, I wasn't referring to any of the existing posts.

Wow. That was all a bit harsh. Clearly no compadres here!!

Wow. 88 pounds is an amazing accomplishment. Especially having fallen off the horse and gained back weight - so many people would have given up. It took me 5 years to come back to MFP because I gained 20 pounds and just gave up. For you to get back on the horse and achieve that loss shows your remarkable commitment.…

Thanks OP for posting this, hilarious. The writer is Blogger Geraldine DeRuiter of The Everywhereist.

Fascinating article. Thanks for the link

Thank you for starting this Forest. I haven't been willing to commit to challenges because they are often so intimidating. 5 pounds is doable and sensible. Good luck to all! Not to argue for any point of view - I eat vegetables and fish - I highly recommend "The Omnivore's Dilemma" by Michael Pollan. I can't remember whether it was that book or one of his others, but his conclusion was: Eat real food, mostly vegetables, not too much. So sublimely simple.

SW means starting weight. CW means current weight. It seems like a bunch of people are waiting for the OP to set up some guidelines. Or not.
