I Have an L4-L5 issue as well. I have had it for years. I started with a recumbent bike for cardio, did lots of stretching and planks to strengthen my core. Hi, I eat a Nature Valley granola bar and drink lots of water. It fills me up and I get the "crunch" from the bar. I think is about 190 calories.

Great job on the 5 lbs. Joy. We all have our own goals. I like to set short term goals and reach them. Reaching the short term goals keeps me motivated. Lofty goals can seem unattainable. Fitness pal a great tool to help you get to where you want to go. Follow your calorie goals and get moving!! You can do it!

I have the same thoughts on my calorie burn. When I run on the treadmill or ride the recumbent bike, the machine's calculations on my calorie burn are always lower then my heart rate monitor. I go with the HRM because it is tracking me physically.
