fair enough...perhaps there are SOME results. my husband keeps telling me there have been, but i can't tell if he's being honest or trying to make me feel better. my calorie intake for the first month was 1800-2000/day, which resulted in 1500 net calories (once i subtracted the calories burned in the workouts, i use a…

bah, totally bailed on the fit test and just did the interval circuit today. totally crazy to do them in one day...maybe i'll do it on sunday...you guys are doing great though!

yeah, i'm gonna have the same issue. i will need to do the workouts in the morning so that i won't have to force them into the rest of the day, but i am so much better later on! i tried that Vega stuff too and i thought my heart was going to explode! kinda fun in a scary way, but not something i would continue. are you…

i use a heart rate monitor and routinely get ~500 calories burned for the workouts. thats how i record it.

bah, i posted mine in the "first stats" thread, which was pretty silly in retrospect. i'll re-post them here: Fit test Day 1/Day 15 Switch kicks: 59/54 (note that the first time i did this fit test, i did not get my feet more than 6 inches off the floor for these, the second time i did them right, kicks at about waist…

Fit test Day 1/Day 15 Switch kicks: 59/54 (note that the first time i did this fit test, i did not get my feet more than 6 inches off the floor for these, the second time i did them right, kicks at about waist height which is why the number is lower i think) power jacks: 50/58 power knees: 109/120 power jumps: 30/45 (!!)…

yeah, totally agreed. i am actually finding that the workouts are getting harder the more i do them because i can push harder. the nice thing though, is that translating that intensity into real life exercise is so cool! for example, i went for a bike ride today and totally killed it on a 20 min climb! i would never have…

i think as long as you get some protein and a bit of carbohydrates within 30-60 minutes of working out you'll be fine. that can really be in any form, but the recovery drinks or smoothies are nice because 1) they are easy 2) they are more quickly digested and can be processed into glycogen in your muscles faster than whole…

you have to be really conscious about engaging your core while doing all of the exercises with insanity. if you really think "engage, engage, engage" and actually touch your stomach every now and then to see if you all holding your core tight during all of the workouts, the entire insanity program will work your abs. its…

i like your commitment! yeah. the first week was intense, but it gets better. mostly, make sure you are drinking enough water and really stretching after the workouts. i find that i even need to stretch longer than they have you go, just to be sure that i don't get stiff. a lot of soreness can simply come from muscles…

you would do option 1. put in the number of calories you calculated but DO NOT put in extra exercise calories. the whole "moderately active" thing is accounting for the fact that you are doing some exercise.

so, what i did was enter into MFP the amount of weight i want to lose per week (1.5lbs) and thenlet it calculate my daily intake. then i put in the actual calories i burn in each workout using a heart rate monitor. this seems more accurate to me and i haven't felt hungry or deprived yet. actually, yesterday was the first…

i'm only on day three. today felt pretty hard. its funny, going into this i totally thought it wasn't going to be that difficult. i'm a very athletic person, have run half and full marathons, surf, usually do a spin class 4-5 x week, but these workouts are really freakin' hard! i get what you mean, though, about being…

and remember, not all calories are equal. you want to be eating a 40:40:20 ratio of carbohydrates:protein:fat (percentages of total calories) for the insanity workouts. if you are eating too many carbohydrates and drinking alcohol but staying under your caloric max, you probably won't lose much, or if you do, you will also…

alright, here's my fit test results: switch kicks: 59 power jacks: 50 power knees: 109 power jumps: 30 globe jumps: 11 suicide jumps: 23 push-up jacks: 22 low plank obliques: 69

Hiya everyone! Just started today as well! I have a spinning class tomorrow, so I'll do the fit test tomorrow evening. This morning I did the plyo circuit. Kicked my butt but felt great...afterwards! Thanks for starting the group!
