^.^ This. I am an engineer too. I probably go to one of the nerdiest colleges in existence. And yes. I calculated the exact number of calories I need to burn to lose weight, and I LOVE Big Bang Theory because I understand it haha.

I started end of May 2013, current weight 188, goal weight 160, and I have lost about 25 pounds. And I am 5'8" :P

1/2 cup of fat free cottage cheese has 15 grams of protein. Also egg whites are full of protein. :)

Do you have a meal plan? I just finished my freshman year and I didn't really gain anything because I walked everywhere. It is a good idea to not keep unhealthy snacks in your room because those will be tempting. Try Nut-Thins. They are chips made out of almonds! At first I thought it was a little bland but they grew on me, and they have tons of different flavors!

I do the same thing, I try to distract myself with something else because I also think it is out of boredom. I try and eat a fairly decent dinner and then allow myself a light snack around an hour later. I normally try to stay out of the kitchen and go up to my room to avoid me eating everything in the house!

That is good to know! I started at 213 and it has been almost 6 weeks and I am down to 196. I am hoping to be at 180 by the end of the summer, in another 6-7 weeks. Thanks for the inspiration!
