  • https://www.fitbit.com/user/3LS6DQ Would love some new Fitbit friends!
  • I tend to subscribe to "diets" that are super sustainable, so I was attracted to the most sustainable percentages for me. i tried this: 40% carb, 30% protein, 30% fat I had a trainer who recommended I try 40% protein with 30% carbs, 30% fat and it lasted about 2 days before i realized how unsustainable it was for me. way,…
  • At 28, I was officially told my blood pressure was too high. They took my off birth control (sooo not good) due to concerns with the combination of BC & the high blood pressure. They put me on the water pill, which was very successful while on it, but needed to be taken every day, which was the opposite of exciting to me.…
  • Sounds delicious. Tagging to try later :)
  • Hoping to find some good stuff from everyone's list! Here's a few items on my Ipod, though it's definitely a mix of at least a few types of tunage. Don't judge me on my crappy music taste. Or do. The choice is yours. 'N Sync - Bringin' da Noise Alex Clare - Treading Water Alex Clare - Too Close Avicii - Wake Me Up Britney…
  • That's the way my gym is, which is why I spent (too much) money on the ones I linked on Amazon. I would much rather have paid $20 or less, but they really have helped already, so I'll take it :)
  • I've only been doing this a few months & am not an expert, so please keep that in mind. You may want to try using fractional plate weights, which are basically like standard plates you add to the bar, but tiny so they are smaller weight amounts. I bought mine from Amazon here…
  • I've been doing Strong Lifts 5x5 for about 3 months, but was working out with weights prior to that (some on my own with no rhyme or reason & some with a trainer). I'm 5'2"-ish (maybe a little under depending on the doctor measuring me) and currently weigh about 170. I was eating at or over maintenance for a decent chunk…
  • 1) age: 31 2) approximate weight: 170 3) physical location: IL 4) activity level: I guess moderate to advanced, depending on who you ask. See below. 5) How often do you exercise? ~5 times per week, for between 50-150 minutes per day 6) Do you eat breakfast? Yes & No. I have a very small protein filled snack when I get to…
  • I'm near DeKalb & Northern Illinois University :)
  • This is awesome! Thank you for taking the time to make and share this with the world :)
  • Feel free to add me. And definitely check out this helpful info: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1080242-a-guide-to-get-you-started-on-your-path-to-sexypants
  • Yeah, that's so not going to happen. Doesn't make sense even to separate it all out. If you're looking for a raw item, search the item's name with "usda" and you're more likely to find what you're looking for. Hope that helps :)
  • Awesome work!

  • How about some protein? Most days I eat a one of those tuna pouches for breakfast. Zero carbs & 15+ grams of protein, in a pretty small caloric package. I normally eat a carby snack mid-morning to kill my standard sugar craving around that time (my personal choice is often one of those individually wrapped rice krispie…
  • I actually sweat more than 50 lbs. ago. Like, a lot more. And I wouldn't say I'm pushing harder than I was back then. (I mean, I use more weight, run longer, do harder things, but it all seems to push me to the same relative place.) If I don't have a towel and use it constantly, I end up drinking the seat pouring down my…
  • I think the one with 2 adults and a bag of money is the funniest I've seen. I've actually got a set on my car but mostly because they're awesome. My husband and I are Iron Man/Woman (Tony Stark is a serious favorite of ours) and the 3 cats are Iron Cat, Wolverine Cat, & Captain America Cat. If we had kids, I don't think…
  • colby jack snack sticks (don't get the weight watcher's ones - they suck! i get mine at Aldi's) turkey sausage snack sticks (also from Aldi's - delish & cheap!) rice crispie treats (the individually wrapped ones - don't fall for the generics, they're really not as good) veggie straws (i really thought I'd hate them but…
  • Looking fabulous and it sounds like you're feeling great! Awesome work!
  • Agreed. A Polar FT7 is pretty darn accurate and easy to use. I love mine! it doesn't do the all day thing, but IMHO that really isn't necessary at all.
  • I weigh myself every time I workout, with my workout clothes/shows/ipod on, likely after a full work day and a number of meals & snacks, but prior to actual exercise (unless I workout at lunch at the office). The treadmills at my gym ask for my weight when i start, which is a great reminder since I always start my warmup…
  • @krokador: thanks for the awesome info!
  • The story about your daughter hugging you is wonderful! I got the coolest compliment a few weeks ago at the gym, which is the coolest response or NSV I've experienced so far. Two separate people that don't know each other, at two totally separate times, were SHOCKED to learn that I was so big and out of shape less than a…
  • -cheese sticks (like string cheese, but not stringy. the colby jack sticks from Aldi's are my favorite) -pudding cups -jilly's sugar free jello cups (obviously artificial sweeteners, but you can't beat getting a sweet snack for 5 calories if you're on a day where you need the calories for other things) Kellogg's single…
  • I eat Chipotle ALL THE TIME and it's way, way less than 1000 calories, even with meat. What are you putting in that thing!? My current favorite is a bit bland for most folks, but it's great calorie-wise, & isn't bad for protein either. I do a burrito bowl w/chicken, white rice, black beans & guacamole - all for a total of…
  • food scale - it's amazing how much i eat when i 'eyeball' rather than measure! Polar HRM (my cheaper one was definitely NOT a good purchase!) gym membership - for me, paying money for the membership is a huge, huge motivator. plus, once i'm home for the night, i tend to find myself snuggled up in a recliner staring at the…
