I've lost about 80lbish - it's taken me since April 2012 to do so. I still have about 15-20lb to lose & it will probably take another year to shift it. I workout or go to the gym everyday - I use weights, run, HIIT, swim, cycle, Tai Chi & Zumba and I change it up to keep myself interested... I wish you well with your goals…

Well done! :)

Seem to have hit a plateau but, I will change it up, shake it down and carry on regardless..! I'm not daft - I know the last 20lbs are going to be tricky but I'm a different beast now. I know what success feels like and I'm determined!

Gym session - 25 min run, 20 min reversey-percy on the cross trainer, 2500m row, 20 min upper body strength & 20 min abs and core... 10 min cool down and then off to my nephew's 9th birthday party to eat cake :)

I agree with everyone else - C25K app and decent running shoes... Take your time with it and make sure you warm up and stretch out properly to avoid injury. Good luck with it - you'll be running like a pro in no time

Walk...!!! Walk outside...! It's free, requires nothing more than sensible shoes and you can walk at a fair old clack and build up a sweat. You do not need to gad about, jump, bounce or fly to lose weight. Just move more - simple!

Princess Bride - my all time fave film ever..!

Aww thank you... I quit smoking in January 2013 so it's been a year now - I'd set my healthy eating regime by then (I started my plan in April 2012) and I found that I wasn't enjoying smoking as it stopped or hindered my goals. I just stopped smoking - I told no one I was stopping & I took no replacement therapy and went…

Well done!

Awww... thankyou :blushing:

Fixed the pics - yay..! Now for a lie down in a dark room!

I have been trying to get the pics to work for literally hours now - I am at a loss! Stoopid technology!

I have a fitbit linked to MFP. I also use map my fitness to track powerwalks and runs which links back into MFP to show a calorie burn. Should I remove this link as it would then feed into fitbit as it's a 'step based activity'? I am a bit confused now myself, truth be told..!

I have the One and I love it! I got it just after xmas with some vouchers I'd received. Truthfully, I thought that all I wanted was a pedometer but I heard about the fitbit & did some research. I'd really struggled with a weightloss plateau for a couple of months and couldn't figure out what the issue was - turned out I…

Believe it or not, I like carrot batons as a snack... Crunchy & low calorie - you can't go wrong in my book  Enjoy the film!

I wouldn't say I was an athlete but I can run upstairs and whistle which is something I couldn't do a year ago...! My exercise schedule is 75-90 minutes of medium/high intensity cardio three times a week and 75-90 minutes of strength/weight/resistance training three times a week on alternating days. My hubby and I also go…

I'd definately recommend getting a set of digital scales. I got mine from Argos for about £15 and I use them every day. They're Hanson brand and have their own bowl, weigh in oz's or grams depending on your preference (I am an 'old money' girl) and also have a zero (tare) facility for adding more than one item. To me…

TBH that's why I bought mine - I was completely cheesed off with the Wii telling me I'd not lost my 1lb in two weeks when my (completely naff) BMI had decreased because it wasn't taught fractions... But it won't let me lose less weight over a longer period as I am "overweight!" Stoopid contraption! :ohwell:
-
I bought one of these... It's no wonder I struggle to lose weight as I appear to total 122.8% of a person...! I  maths

Hi - walking is not a strength exercise but is a cardio exercise. If you click on add exercise in the cardio section & type walking in the search box it should come up. Hope this helps.

April 2012 was 252lb (or 18st 1lb) and wearing a UK size 22/24. I'm now 193lb (13st 11lb) and wearing a UK 16. I'm 5'9" tall and would like to lose another 25-30lb or so.

Apples... Just give them a nice crunchy apple... Does no one bob for apples any more...?

You rock! Well done & that last 60lb will be much easier to lose as you've done the hard bit - you've changed the habits that helped you gain those lb's in the first place...! Well done x x x ETA: typo's

We don't watch TV whilst eating. We use the time to all sit together at the table and catch up. We have friends who think it odd that we don't have a TV in our kitchen/diner or in our bedroom for that matter!

My *kitten* is so big that it affects the tides... Me (to my son): If you don't behave I will sit on you & call the policeman! My son: Mum, if you sit on me please call an ambulance and not the police...! My *kitten* is so big that, no matter where I sit in the house, I am sat next to you...

You need to make your diary public... Then we can see what you're logging and possibly offer advice & support

Just reading through the posts with interest... I have a feeling that I'm a bid weird as I totally plan what I am going to eat for the day either the day before or first thing in the morning. I then prepare my meals (weighing everything properly - I never eyeball) and then update my food diary accordingly. I make sure that…

I weigh everything and measure liquids accurately. The tare facility will set the balance back to zero. So, if you're making a salad for example, you can put your lettuce/salad leaves in the scale and see the weight - then you can leave them there, press tare and then weigh your tomatoes, press tare and weigh your cucumber…
