I have the garmin vivoactive and LOVE it! Fitness trackers are good if you plan to run/walk for your fitness routine but other then that are not necessary. I love knowing how many steps and how active i have been throughout the day....it gives me a lot of motivation.

Just keep at it. Consistency is key! You can have bad days as long as it's not everyday!

Make sure you are eating at least every 3 hours. Small snacks make a big difference!

If you are not eating enough calories you will not lose the weight....you need energy to burn. Don't sacrifice your calorie intake!
