Calorie counts change all the time. For example, I bought 2 packs of tortilla shells on the same day off of the same shelf. They were both low carb (same brand) and looked IDENTICAL. I bought them because they were only 60 cal per shell. So I'm going along eating them and logging them in and minding my own business when…

Now that's just awesome! Doesn't it feel great?!?! You look wonderful and I know you feel just as good now as you did 30 years ago. Congratulations!!! And that's a pretty great wife you've got there to think to do that for you. Give her a big hug:flowerforyou:

I'm not a cereal person (yes I LOVE it, but I don't like to waste my calories on such small quantities:o) but I think the Special K cereals are lower in sugar than most. The plain Special K has something like 4gr and the kind with red berries has about 10 I think. Not great but it's better than 19. Most any cereal is gonna…

I don't know if anyone else mentioned this or not because I didn't read the whole thread, but more than likely it's what they call on The Biggest Loser "The Week 2 Curse." Google it and you can find some info about it from the show. It's just your body adjusting basically. Keep up the good work and you should be pleasantly…

Exactly. That being said, all these numbers are somewhat in theory. Every person is different and every week (day even) will be different. For example, it said on here last week that I should have lost 2 lbs...I lost 9!!! But what I explained and what you understood is the theory behind it.

The calories that it allows you are based on your goal weight and the amount of normal daily activity you do (from the info you entered when you set up your profile) and the amount per week you want to lose. Those allowed before exercise are what you would need to eat to lose the weight without exercise. When you exercise,…

Thanks for the input everyone. That's all I needed to hear. Definitely don't have time to spend all day on the pot. Not looking for a magic pill as my lifestyle has already drastically changed. I just thought it might be a little boost for a month or 2 but I think I'll stay away! Thanks again.

I'm 5'4" and BMI says I should be between 108-146. That seems like an awfully wide spread to me. I don't know how much I trust it. I checked some other sites for your height though, and I got the same results you mentioned. All I can say is I wouldn't worry so much about numbers (easier said than done, I know) and…

Well, I did ask for opinions...

Could you not just boil yours separate in a small sauce pan maybe? Not any extra clean up really. Just a thought.

Awesome! Thanks very much!!!

My husband is a runner and has bad knees. He says knee braces are invaluable! He wears one on both knees every time he runs. He's not able to run at all without them. Get a couple of good ones, pop some Aleve, and give it a try. Good luck to you!

Hi! Don't know about everyone else but today was my first weigh in and I lost 9 lbs my first week staying within my calories. The first 7 were within the first 4 days and without exercise due to an injured ankle. Watching calories and exercising will definitely work. You might have to switch things up once you reach a…

I wouldn't suggest a cheat day every week. That makes it way too easy to slip and it can quickly undo an entire weeks worth of hard work...esp if it's a cheat DAY and not just a cheat MEAL. I don't see any harm in doing a cheat meal once a month maybe, just don't overdo it. I don't mean this to sound like I'm binding it on…

Basically, don't pay attention to that. I don't anyway. All it's saying is that if you had the exact calorie intake and exercise everyday for 5 weeks as you do today (or whatever day it happens to be), you would weigh whatever weight it's telling you in 5 weeks. It's all in theory though. Everyone is different. Like I…

Good to know I'm not the only OCDer around here:tongue:

See? This is why I ask!!! I NEVER even thought of that! Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!!!
-
Thanks y'all. I didn't figure it did but it never hurts to check. Every calorie counts, right? I drive my hubby bonkers when I check the calories on breath mints:laugh:

Couldn't have said it better...esp the part about doubling the chances for good news!

Excellent choice! Great job!!!

I'm so thankful chocolate is not a problem for me, however, eating fruit is. I have to work on that. I don't have much of a taste for sweets of any kind. Congrats on the breakthrough. Keep up the good work!

hahahahaha...It was a total mistake. I typed it above your last message and didn't realize it until I posted it. Hit the edit button, copied my comment to the right spot, and deleted the old one. But feel free to continue believing that I'm AMAZING!!!

I have a friend like that. She never has to decide what to drink...it's just ALWAYS water. I get on water kicks where that's all I crave and will drink only that but it usually only lasts for a few weeks and then I'm over it. And it has to be ICE COLD water...with ice!!!
-
I meant to ask...what DO you drink?
-
Actually I do drink that some as well. I particularly enjoy the single packs that I can take with me with a bottled water. Thanks!
-
False advertising!!!

Oh how I wish I didn't drink soda. I have managed to give it up (except for Diet Coke w/Splenda) and found that sweet (splenda) tea is a great replacement!
