I quit cold turkey Oct 1 2012...i used Listerine breath spray to blast my taste buds. So far, so good. Good luck...you can do it!

I quit September 30, 2012 and have lost around 30 lbs since then. I have watched many of my family members quit, but they gained weight. They all substituted some sort of food for smokes. I did not want to do that so i tried to stay away from anything you chew..i.e. food, gum, mints, etc. What worked for me was Listerine…

4 oz ground turkey burger, no bun, with 2 T. Homemade guacamole and 4 oz. steamed asparagus. Under 250 cal!

I am in the same situation. My trainer said ice, elevate, and rest. He said I can use the rowing machine only, no other cardio ( run,walk,eliptical,bike,etc.) I have a tough mudder scheduled in 2 weeks and dont know if i'll be able to participate. It's been a rough weekend! Hope you heal quickly!

I quit cold turkey 5 months ago after 25 years of smoking. Listerine breath spray has been the best substitution for me. You are in the hardest time IMO. Keep focusing on the money saved and how much easier it is to do cardio, now that you can breathe easier. Stay strong! You have the hardest part behind you.
