  • Mushrooms are on of my favourite things ever. I put them in everything. General steamed vegetables, something green, some kind of root, something 'sweet' (capsicum) etc, something from the onion family and mushrooms. Chop a bit of it all up steam and put pesto/gravy/splash of oil/herbs on mmm yum! I put them in dumplings…
  • Candied ginger is amazing, definitely putting that on my list, glad someone else likes it. Also tempeh & lupini :)
  • I agree with many of the above posters. It's a tabata style workout, which while not burning heaps of calories. Will improve your cardiovascular health and fitness. VO2 max is a measure of cardiovascular fitness. That's what it's equal to improving in relation to 40 minutes jogging/other low intensity cardio. Definitely a…
  • As long as eating bread doesn't mean your not eating other type of nutritious food such as fruit and vegetables then you should be fine. Adding a few more serves of vegetables to what you eat probably wouldn't be a bad thing... however you could just make a massive salad sandwich haha also try stuff like sourdough if you…
  • Extra Sugar Free Gum Coffee- brewed from grounds Rolled Oats Sea Salt Oat Bran Avocado Tomato raw Peanut Butter - 100% natural So Good Soy Chocolate Milk Organic Tamari (followed by kidney beans, mushroom + lettuce), sounds pretty good to me, however that could be because the less amazing food is more random and thus not a…

  • Yeah, I'm just starting it today, better late than never :) Should be good
  • Ideally 5 days a week, 1hr a session (sometimes more if I'm lucky). That doesn't include walking places or riding my bike which I think of more as active transport.

  • It's really easy to get all your nutrients if you eat a balanced diet. Fake meats can be really tasty and there are many options out there that are vegan (contain no animal products). Tofu, and many soy products can also play a key role in your diet (these are some of your fake meats and also dairy substitutes) A typical…
  • There all pretty good really you can do basically anything that you want for breakfast same as anyone else the only other things people really eat for breakfast/vegan versions scrambled tofu baked beans grilled veggies/spinach, mushroom, tomato on toast could use your fake meats as well (I don't eat too many of them…

  • At the morning tea I made them for someone else had also brought fairy bread, but instead of using butter they had used peanut butter. It was actually really tasty and would possibly be perfect post workout food after long distance moderate intensity cardio. I never really liked fairy bread that much as a child, but yeah…

  • You're right its not the worst food ever haha, I was just being dramatic. It is however refined flour, refined sugar and fat, and can easily be made 100% vegan eep! Did they call in fairy bread in the US?

  • but if I'd thought about it I could have figured that out myself... Where is the magic?!?
  • I've been teaching swimming for just over 5 years now and coaching jr squad/swim for fit stuff for just over 3 years now (as context) Previously did some low level squad stuff as well. 1) current literature around stretching for any exercise is that you don't need to, however dynamic stretching can be a good part of a warm…
  • hand reduction?
  • lemon sorbet? or just make up some lemon cheesecake-y thing following some random low cal cheesecake recipe you google and just add lemon and lemon zest
  • find someone with smaller hands?? in all honesty I get the mourn-age from them shrinking, however on the plus side the easier it is to exercise (run, jump) without wearing 3+ bras to stop them from hitting us in the face :)
  • There are formulas to estimate that on the net, however they aren't calculators and can get quite complex, if you don't yet own a HRM maybe consider getting one that calculates that for you.
  • both the estimates on MFP and numbers on the machines are probably incorrect. My machine significantly estimates over MFP. Both are just based on formulas for a typical person. The best way to record calories burnt is to use a HRM.
  • are you trying to loose this weight for an event/reason? or as part of a long term permanent weight loss plan? If its the second one, anything that means you loose 1.6pd in 3 days won't contribute to your long term goals. Better to eat clean/healthy and keep exercising and get there safely in a way that is maintainable.
  • Men and women do store fat in different areas, and different area's loose weight at faster or slower levels (I'll skip the complicated technical talk). It's less under the skin fat and organ fat, and more women store 'generally' in the lower abdomen, thighs, bottom and upper arms. While men store mainly in the abdomen.…

  • you should defiantly discuss this with your doctor, but do you do things like *cooking on iron *eating lots of high iron vegetables (usually the green leafy ones) *combining foods to increase the iron absorption *having foods which are fortified with iron, you can get some juices which has minimal processing. Also avoiding…
  • Due to being a vegan, I'm currently taking - iron (as my levels recently slightly dropped) mixed with vit C, zinc and b12 - calcium w/ vit D - pro biotic (live and dairy free) - zinc (as I've had problems with deficiency in this also) If I could afford it I'd also consider taking a supplement made from algae containing…
  • 100g red capsicum 150g cucumber 300g celery 2 sanitarium veggie hot dogs. all chopped up :) and a double shot long black
  • Yeah I have this problem too, I suppose you could avoid it but in moderate amounts its really good for you. You just need to find a way to get the correct portion, so some of the methods people already said, dip things in it, buy it in prepackaged amounts etc. Are all good. I personally wouldn't replace it with substitues,…
  • Good quiz, retrospectively I probably should have let other people get them all right as I really should know the answers. If you want I have a few possible questions that might be able to go in your next one :)
  • B is probably more accurate, as fat storage sites are not likely to change the results. I was a little bit torn on this one anyway. I think however that I'm a little bit brainwashed by the push that was made to change here to use WH ratio as a better option than BMI.
