Thanks for all the suggestions everyone! I don't expect a six pack or anything, but am looking forward to a flat gut!

Sorry, I misunderstood your post - yes, I am eating to lose. Cutting about 400 cals a day and upped the protein, lowered the carbs. This makes sense...that no matter how strong the abs get you won't see it unless the fat is off of them. I just wish there was a way to target fat loss!!

Yup. I have pictures of myself in high school, super lean, 5'7' and weighing maybe 120 lbs....covering up my lower pooch in every photo because I was self conscious about it! I have a short torso too and not much a waistline....almost straight down from the ribs. So I think the weight that I have there feels and looks like…

I've started getting dirty olive martinis...the cranberry juice and vodka seems to have too much sugar and the saltiness of the martini (although I guess it's high in sodium) helps me sip it slow!

I should not be in a calorie deficit as I have done all the calculations and am eating an average of 1600 cals plus some of my exercise calories. I'm lifting 3 times a week, after 30 minutes or so of cardio, and doing more cardio on other days (usually 2). I've upped the protein a bunch and am losing weight on the scale,…

What's important is that muscle burns calories efficiently and fat doesn't do anything but sit there and look ugly. So weigh more...just have it be because you have muscles!!

So, I started off with the 30 day shred back in January and found it difficult to do daily...not so much because it was hard, I think I just became bored with doing the same thing everyday. Since we joined the Y, I have been MUCH more consistent about exercise. It's nice, as a mom, to leave home to go do something just for…

On the cereal...I just put a 1/4 cup into my greek yogurt and blueberries for crunch. Now, about those sandwich thins....here's my problem....I HATE lettuce! I know I should eat it, but it gags me and makes me want to puke!! So, a weird food issue there, but it's one I can't get past! Most other wrap options seem to be…

Funny! I thought...wow, 15 and 5 kids???? I do have the 30 day Shred dvd...tried it for awhile and started going to the gym instead. Do you do all three stages or one at a time...how do you use it? Thanks!

This sounds delish!!!

I'm 5'7" and would like to get to 144 or so...but am fine with that being higher as long as it's firm!!
-
I mix cardo with weight training. Weights usually 3 times a week and cardio 4 times...most weeks.

Great suggestion - thank you! Hadn't looked at sodium before!

First, thanks for the compliment...very sweet, but black and white photography is kind to wrinkles! I will totally change the carb levels...I had adjusted it to the 40% after reading the Road Map posting that helped me figure out the TDEE and BMR numbers. I am getting most of those carbs from whole grains and veggies, but…

Well, other than the inch and half in waist and two inches off my hips, I don't know. I haven't measured arms or legs. Oops...just saw your reply...never mind!

Just not logging it....I drink a lot of water, both plain and carbonated but all 0 calorie.

Also would love to know about other women's success with NWLO4W!

This is almost exactly where I am....5'7" and currently STUCK at 156. I am working out more than I ever have in my life (which I am really enjoying now) and have lost inches but I can see the fat still and I want it GONE! It's funny, as my legs and arms tone up the globs of fat seem to stand out even more!! I am in a…

This may seem like and odd question, but do you take any medications? I have been doing a lot of research on this and have found most anxiety and/or depression drugs cause a significant portion of the population to struggle with weight gain AND with trying to take it off while on these medications. This in NOT universal…

I picked up a Starbuck's oatmeal today around 9:30am and it made a world of difference. Plus, it's sweet! That seems to be the hardest thing to give up for me...sugar! For those who asked, 1200 calories seems to be the running amount for lots of folks on MFP. I do eat every single (and sometimes more) calorie that I earn…

Thanks to everyone for so many helpful suggestions! I boiled a bunch of eggs last night after reading these! I am eating all of my exercise calories and have often been over on fat and protein. It's challenging to balance but I'm looking forward to it. Thanks again!

I'm in! Doing C25K right now and signed up for a 5K in May...but hoping to try a 10 that month too! I am only in week 3 of the program but LOVE being able to run for 3 minutes...can't imagine how great it will feel to run over 3 miles!

First...as newbie...what does Bump mean??? Second...if we aren't on the spreadsheet does that just mean we asked to be included too late? I'd love to keep posting my progress here since it makes me even more accountable and that is what I need!! Thanks!
