When I logged my food I was very surprised at the amount I had eaten and I know I wasn’t accurate with nibbles before lunch. Makes you think

Coconut. 1Tbs 210 calories. 21 gm carbs. 1/6 my calories and 1/5 my carbs. 90 gm sodium (I can only have 1500 due to Chronic kidney disease). And I just wanted a little nibble of something and didn’t check. Lesson learned

Thanks everyone. I thought unprocessed meat had little sodium so was really shocked when my entry for turkey was over 1000 mg. Went back and looked at entries. I had baked turkey and had selected 1 slice (which, I realize thanks to you all) was lunch meat not fresh. Difference of almost 1000 mg. Will definitely be more…

I can’t think of anything to say except Thank You for being willing to say what I needed to be said

Hi I’m stage 4 and would love to be in touch with you all. I’m having trouble getting my diet together. I met with a renal dietician but her basic advice was eat all in moderation. Limit sodium and potassium to 2000 mg daily and gave me a couple of brochure. I’m not very inventive with food and have a food budget that…

I have been with home health since a recent surgery. At this point I have increased my steps per day by 1000 steps. I also do band exercises. I am working on building strength and stamina. Examples of exercise: standing push ups, bands for biceps etc. and of course walking. I probably get my heart rate up for 10 mins at a…

So interesting I have begun a mindfulness online class MBSR which teaches how to pay attention to everything. Guess what first unit has a lot of info on...mindful eating. What you just stated. Reading a book actually audiobook called Mindfulness Eating Solution. Hits so close

I am bipolar and when I am manic I am an extreme binge eater. Do it other times too....stressful times etc. I am currently doing an online class about mindful eating. Makes so much sense to me. I am reading a book “Mindlessness Eating Solution” by Lynn Rossy. On audio books too. Basically says we eat without recognizing…

This sounds promising. I am trying to be more mindful and this fits right in. Feels great to follow through on changes I make. In the past have been very quick off the wagon. Hope the new skills will be my seatbelt and keep me focused on changing what I must to live a healthy lifestyle for the first time in my life. I’m 60…

Would love to give and receive support. I too have little money and food chooses can be challenging. I still have right about 200 lbs. Look forward to this round being successful.

My mobility is very limited but I am in. Goal 5 miles extra.

I too have this challenge. I actually have a area of what my doctor calls tissue-I call it fat that is larger than a basketball that hangs from my lower belly that weighs about 40 lbs so I understand your challenges. There is a wonderful product that you place between skin folds called InterDry. You can find it at their…

Write that sentence down. Rip it to pieces and throw it out of your life. Focus on you.

Congratulations! Thanks for sharing this. I have tried really hard and lost 93 lbs in one year but fell off the wagon, gained 30 back and have thought a lot. I have been gearing up to make a permanent change and your post was just exactly what I needed to hear. I got back on track just this morning. Very inspiring.

I have done the same thing. I lost 93 lbs, 're gained 47 lbs and have lost 24 of that. It can be frustrating but t is what it is and you can't change that. Someone said the only time you should look behind you is to see how far God has brought you. You deserve to be healthy and fit. So quit beating yourself up, get a good…

Welcome to the beginning of a journey filled with changes: embrace it, make no excuses, and never give up!

I do this too. Have you tried relaxation or meditation? Sometimes it helps if I take my time and become very deliberate with what I eat, logging before helps some. Make a point to notice negative thoughts and counter with positive ones. I pray everything turns out well for you. You can do this just don't give up!

What is HIIT

I too struggle with this but find a moment of meditation or prayer each morning helps

16 lbs May not seem like much but it is. I started my journey at 458 and lost 93 lbs then got cocky. I proved that I can not eat like everyone else...I gained back 35 lbs. I got refocused and have lost 15 lbs. This site has been and is just what I needed. Some people are so honest it hurts but most of the time if you think…

This round going well....not easy but working. Have lost 13 lbs since got serious.
-
Don't panic.. it seems hard but it is really easy. Take a breath and search as said above....the more specific the better. Ex. Instead of "cheese" enter "sliced american cheese ". Will get you closer to what you are looking for. Good luck!

I too have struggled with overweight since 6 years old. I am 57 but remember how my own sister and I ate the same, played the same, and she stayed slim and trim and I ballooned. Do this for you, think of why you are doing it, what do you want to achieve....most of all, small steps, much patience!
-
57 and have a huge goal to meet, but, my first small step is to lose the weight I regained -62. I had lost 93 but because I tried to eat like everyone else, I regained 31lbs. Lesson learned and I restarted my journey and have lost a little over 5 lbs in 2 weeks. This is a great place for support.
-
That is awesome! My friend just had 2 weeks ago and has lost 12 lbs. I am getting closer to doing it myself, just not quite sure.
-
Do not be discouraged. I don't have access to a gym. Even if I did my health does not allow me to go out in extreme temps, either hot or cold. So, I use videos and what I have learned when I had or. Good for you for doing something.

Sugar addiction may not be scientifically proven but personally, I can not eat a lot of carbs. I have proven this to myself and doubting family and friends. When I cut out beans, potatoes, and bread I can loose 2-3 lbs a week no problem. Add those carbs and I can gain it all back plus some. I lost 93 lbs in a year. Got…

I have wanted to do water exercise but do not have access to a pool. Never even thought about the tub, duh. How do you measure exercise with bands or isometric as far as calories burned?
