From what I understand the calorie burn isn't much greater but the overall benefits to your body, health, and longevity are what's important. I've read that sitting for most of your day is pretty awful. Even if you ran for a few miles in the morning but then sat at work all day you were just as prone to early death (from…

I'm doing the Philly Love Run (it's a new 1/2 marathon) at the end of march. If I am picked in the lottery again I'll be doing the Broad Street Run in May (10 miles). The Gary Papa Prostate Cancer 5k on Father's Day. Hopefully another half in early fall, haven't decided on that yet but it would be good motivation to stay…

I know this is a little bit old but I thought I would contribute. I was diagnosed Grave's in 2008. I was put on methimazole and quickly gained a lot of weight (about 35 pounds). I tried going off the med, checked my levels and they just barely went above normal so my endo recommended I go back on the methimazole. After…

I'm hyperthyroid (Grave's disease). When I was first diagnosed I was put on methimazole and I gained about 35 pounds. I stopped taking the medicine and started eating better & exercising and lost 25 and put myself in remission (my levels were fine for about a year). When I got lazy with my diet and exercise my heart…

I'd love some motivation. I am getting married October 18 of this year. I am actually picking up my dress on Sunday - so excited! I know it fits as is but its a little lumpy in the tummy area and I would love for my arms to look sculpted. I've got about 10-15 pounds to lose so I know it is going to be tough! Hopefully this…

Did you use a regular child's one? I tried using my nieces and couldn't do it but once I tried a weighted one I realized I could still do it. Not sure where you get a weighted one as I only borrowed it from a friend but its worth a shot

I agree with everyone else, run outside as soon as possible! I just did week 5 day 2 of C25k and I have done all of the running outside except for one time when it was raining. I prefer the outdoors for the change of scenery- it keeps me motivated, staring at a wall of or the rest of the gym can get boring. But I do like…

Me too! I usually just take my MFP totals and just add it as a daily estimate of calories on bodymedia's site. I really wish their food database was better or it worked with MFP
