The arctic enema was my second obstacle and was over quick. Luckily, I did it in December in FL, so it wasn't miserably cold and I could warm up. I wore compression capris and a dri-fit shirt. I would recommend wearing something formfitting.

There's nothing wrong with you. You are finally recognizing the issue and want to do something about it. Don't try to change everything at once - start small. Set mini goals like drink more water, walk everyday, etc. I don't know what you are eating, but make small changes there too; like if you notice that you are…

I've never seen these. Are these what women use in competitions? I'm in total irrational feminist mode about why the lighter ones are designated for women.

Most olympic bars on the bench and racks are 45lbs. Edited to add - olympic

Look at Oh She Glows - she has a lot of great recipes and they are plant based.

Hard but doable. So much fun and the camaraderie is amazing - seriously, everyone helps everyone. You'll question why the hell you did it and around mile 8 when your legs are cramping you might hate life, but then you keep going and finish. Don't think about it, just go. You'll love it!

Off to feed like a pig at a trough.....

You have my respect for playing along and not getting all "you guys are mean" on us. It's a calorie counting website, we are all b!tchy. :)
-
We used to have a designated "squat till you puke" day. Wasn't supposed to be taken literally, but some days it was.
-
I've never used the smith machine, but I love that you shared this story. It happens to the best of us - I have almost eaten it with regular weighted squats in a rack because I lost focus. Nothing like sheer panic and fear to make the gym more interesting. Dust yourself off and try again. :)

2 hour commute and the danger of candy? The obvious answer is to quit your job.

Youtube HIIT and body weight exercises. All free and no equipment necessary.

I was only at 90%. That made a big difference, thanks!

StrStd.com has my week 3 at 130x5, 150x3 and 165x1+. I am currently squatting 195lbs 5x5, so that just seems like a big jump down.

Ezekiel bread with pepper jack cheese and avocado or bread with peanut butter and banana.

Soreness doesn't equal a great workout - it just means that you worked muscles that haven't been worked in a while. I would definitely find a progressive program though.

I eat over 400 calories of veggies and fruit daily. That's why.

It's possible. It's also possible to eat well/exercise and die young.

I'm going to play devil's advocate here and say that the person was probably speaking about the higher majority of people who need to be taken care of at that age - not those still able to function on their own. I don't think I would want to continue living if I wasn't able to go to the bathroom on my own or bathe myself.…

What about shadow boxing - that should get your heart rate up.

Congratulations! You should absolutely be proud! Positivity is everything! :)

1. You will see results when you eat at a deficit - give it 4-6 weeks with lifting, counting and measuring. 2. Try New Rules of Lifting for Women or Stronglifts 5x5. Less time and probably more efficient although I haven't actually seen JE's routine. 3. No buddy necessary - I actually hate working out with people. Only…

What do you mean by "according to this website, I'm under my calorie intake"? How far under?
-
Honestly, you only really have to run and lift your body weight repeatedly. Also, I have to give the obligatory recommendation to look up Strong Lifts. It kind of blows your training routine out of the water.

So what you're saying is that they are making plenty of money off people by selling supplements....
-
To gain 2.4 pounds of fat you would have to eat over 7,000 extra calories - you would know if you did that. Anything can affect weight - exercise, sodium, time of the month, etc. Don't concentrate so much on the scale - take measurements, be diligent about counting and you will be fine.
-
My calves are 15.5 inches too and they are fabulous! Nothing wrong with that measurement. Fat loss will come from all over - continue dancing and doing what you love. Concentrate on how strong you are rather than a number or measurement.
-
I think it's a drastic change, but you know what's best for you. I don't know what type of environment you work in, but I can say that there will always be temptation no matter where you go. I have worked in many environments and there are always days where people are bringing in food, leftover food from meetings,…

What about Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, The Limited, Macy's, or Nordstrom. I'm in my 30's but I have shopped at these stores in my 20's and will for the rest of my life. They carry classic designs that really don't go out of style and work for all ages. When you do actually want to shop, most have great sales too.

Oh, honey. No. Just no.
