Training program for tough mudder

Hi,

I would like to run a tough mudder next november. I was wondering if you have any training program to recommend for that.

At the moment, I am doing a lot of weight lifting and not a lot of run (see my training program below):

Monday: Workout A on machines: chin up(6x8), Lat pull (6x8), Dips (6x8), Lying Triceps (6x8), Shoulder press (6x8), pull up (6x8), Cardio (20 minutes running)

Tuesday: moderate cardio (cycling 26 miles)

Wednesday: Free weights work out: Arm Curl (6x8), Tricep Extensions (6x8), Bench press (6x8), Crunch (6x30), Shoulder press (6x8), Lying Fly (6x8), Supine bicep curl (6x8), Squat (6x8)

Thursday: moderate cardio (cycling 26 miles)

Friday: Workout B on machines: Leg press (6x8), Leg Curls (6x8), Chest press (6x8), Chest fly (6x8), chin up (6x8), Leg raise (6x8), Cardio (20 minutes running).

Saturday: rest day

Sunday: Workout A

Honestly, you only really have to run and lift your body weight repeatedly. Also, I have to give the obligatory recommendation to look up Strong Lifts. It kind of blows your training routine out of the water.
  • I'm going to do something similar. Here in the Netherlands it's called Mud Masters.

I do a lot of weight lifting. You can try to find last years obstacles? I did and try to train for some of the obstacles.
Also I started to run, and do more cardio.

And I'm going to some bootcamp classes 1,5 month before the run.

I've done multiple Tough Mudders. Go to their website. They have some training programs from beginners to advance that you can do. I would start there. I highly recommend running.
