Feel free to add me! Been running for a year and a half, definitely started out as that very slow runner! I'm running a bit faster and a lot longer now, but it's all hard won training. :D

Overtraining is definitely a possibility. Look up the symptoms, keep them in your head, and pay attention to your body. If you're doing alright, there's no reason I can think of not to exercise as much as you want to. Just make sure you're eating enough for it.
-
Why did you gain the weight, though? Not exercising as much? That's probably more to do with why. It's said you can start to see a drop in performance levels after as little of 2-3 weeks of inactivity. That said, it's possible. Try going for a run with a couple pound weights and see if that doesn't make things a bit…

You might find it useful to do a bit of reading on sports psychology-Runner's World has a lot about it, and it fascinates me. But the short version is, if you spend all your time thinking about how much it hurts and how much you loathe it, well, guess what? But if you take a mental turn and think positive, even very…

Last fall I ran my first half marathon. My final training run, 12 miles, was completed with several walk breaks and the rest of the day was spent with feet up and lots of pain. Last week I ran 12 in my final training for this week's half... running the whole thing, and felt absolutely brilliant the rest of the day. And @OP…

The theory should stay the same, the numbers should just be recalculated. If you're using current numbers of weight and exercise count, and things still aren't changing, maybe your metabolism is being ridiculous, and a short term reset would do you good. For my own count, I do things the MFP way just because I don't have a…

I've been eyeing this for over a year, and will be hitting goal at the beginning of summer. So. That's happening. http://www.pinupgirlclothing.com/suits-by-mary-harlequin-two-piece.html May also try to talk someone into joining me for a Disney half marathon, and just make a whole trip of it. Or perhaps the Rock n' Roll…

I do the Convict Conditioning program and I. Love. It. It uses a series of squats, bridges, push and pull ups, leg lifts, and handstands. You start with really easy versions of all the moves and slowly add difficulty. Been at it a little over 3 months so far, and am totally convinced.…

5'10ish here, and about 15 pounds from my goal of 170. Add me if you like! I'm currently wearing size 8. I keep questioning if maybe I shouldn't go for closer to 160, but I am finding myself already quite angular... I suppose I shall just get there, then reassess. As for heels... oh, I have never been ashamed to stand out…

IN. To make ALL the cookies.

My last shopping trip (for an interview outfit!), I came home with two new medium tops and size 8 slacks. I'm fairly certain I haven't worn single digit sizes... ever.

I started T25 today. If you're looking for a good, hard workout in a short amount of time so you can get on with life... get that.

Educate yourself! Read this; http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1080242-a-guide-to-get-you-started-on-your-path-to-sexypants You said the last time you tried this, you worked out like crazy and severely restricted your diet. Of course you failed-that's not sustainable. Plugged your numbers in briefly, and saw that you…

Great advice! Saving to share with the next person who asks How I Did It.

While I love all the commentary on determination and accepting a new lifestyle... I think education is SO important. Those who are hoping that eating some vaguely smaller amount and working out a little (or way too much!) more than they were but don't really know WHY they are losing will inevitably fail, because they don't…

Find a good, rich hot chocolate mix, made with water-Ghiradelli's has some great ones for well under 200 Cals-and add a few shots of espresso to it. Or, shot of espresso, cup of nonfat milk, tablespoon of cocoa powder, tablespoon of sugar, and/or tablespoon of sugar free flavoring syrup. I prefer this in particular because…

Yup. Going through it now. Give yourself something to look forward to. I'm totally voting for the new apartment in another city option. Florence has some surprisingly cheap options, and you can teach ESL til you're sick. That's my next goal... lol. Or maybe just planning a weekend trip would be wiser. I'd also look into UV…

Chocolate diet?! Count me in!

Get some Lindt or Ghirardelli pieces. Something intensely chocolatey, that will satisfy with one small piece. Split a mug cake or brownie with someone. Go run 5 miles. Eat it back in the form of a DQ Blizzard. Alternatively, yeah, sometimes you've just gotta eat a little more one day. Slowing down your progress by a…

Best thing I've seen all day. Thanks for that, ryry.

I keep these links on hand to double check when I'm not sure I trust my gear; http://www.braydenwm.com/calburn.htm http://www.runnersworld.com/weight-loss/how-many-calories-are-you-really-burning And check the calculator at the end. Your numbers seem to match. :) nice work!

Not being your own worst enemy? I'd call that the hugest of NSVs! Congratulations! Also on the half; I've got my first one in 2 weeks. It's rough!
-
Yeaahhh!!!!!! 2 and some over goal, and I even moved my last long run to later this week. Feeling quite accomplished!
-
Couple of slow weeks, but 11 miles yesterday means we're still on track for goal! 85 total

Salted caramel mocha? ...no but seriously. I have them probably way too often and just limit treats elsewhere to make 'em fit. Although today I just had one of the Starbucks Via pumpkin spice latté packs in a cup of nonfat milk. Not as delicious, but still good, and only 150 Cals/half the sugar.

Sounds like fun, I'm in!

BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) =/= TDEE (Total Daily Energy Expenditure). Don't confuse the two; you want a cut from your TDEE, but around here, from what I've gathered, it's pretty well accepted that you still need to eat at least your BMR. Read;…

Tell me about it! The worst one for me most days is "But my hair looks great and if I work out I'll have to wash it and what are the chances it'll look this good after and well I could just not eat as much today..." Which usually gets me out the door plenty quick. Lol.

Halfway there before the half month mark, whoop whoop! 8 this morning means we're at 49 out of 100

I'm always in for tips! My first half is five days before yours, am quite excited. Good luck!
