  • I wouldn't advise it if you're trying to stay in Ketosis. It takes time to transition into ketosis under normal circumstances. If you're not following a ketogenic diet then it might not be such a big deal for you. For myself, I try to follow a ketogenic diet so this would be counterproductive for me.

  • Thank you and good luck to all who chose to join this challenge. The challenge is now closed to new members.
  • We currently have 112 confirmed members. Our goal is to reach 120; although that isn't a hard limit. I will close the group to new members at 8:00pm tonight (2:15 from now) and form the teams. Anyone who joins before then will be placed on a team.
  • Congratulations on losing so much weight and getting so close to your goals. I wish you luck in getting there. Although I doubt you need any luck. Anyone who can stick with it as long as you must have surely has what it takes to make it all the way.
  • Sorry, but the teams are randomly selected.
  • Personal and team rankings are based on percentage lost. We do list other statistics at the end that include total pounds lost.
  • Congratulations on your progress so far. Do you think you'll reach your goal in the next 10 weeks? If so, which would be really cool, then it would hurt your team standings because you will stop losing weight. But frankly, if you did that you would definitely be an asset to any team. I encourage you to join. I'll send you…
  • I created the new group and shamelessly stole the images British Broccoli used for this one. Any artists around want to take a stab and coming up with new ones? I invited everyone who made it through 7 weeks of this challenge. If you are very interested in joining the new competition and didn't get an invite please let me…
  • Thanks for all the feedback and enthusiasm. I'll be starting up the new group soon. I'll be modifying the rules based on the feedback; particularly the lessons-learned from British Broccoli. I'm a bit muddy right now (and yesterday). I fell victim to the illness that my eldest son and wife had this past week. So I'm…

  • Well, I'm not giving up. And I wish you wouldn't bow out becks. For myself, I draw alot of encouragement from you. In my past, it was the not-sticking-with-it that caused me to fail. Not the weight loss status. I have good periods and bad periods. The fact that you have stuck with it in spite of not having good results is…

  • Hey Brownies! Just dropping in to ask how everyone is doing. For my part I'm doing great from a weight loss perspective (I'm really looking forward to this week's weigh-in). From a personal perspective Friday or Sunday will be my last day in my current job. I'm being furloughed. Effectively forced vacation, or taking leave…
  • This, although I don't log it on MFP daily - I log it on days when one of the Challenge groups I'm in has a weigh in. I don't log it in MFP regularly because I don't want people to say "Good Job" when I just lost the 5 pounds I gained the day before. I'm following a ketogenic diet (or trying to) and if I see a big…
  • Hello partywalk. I'm thoroughly convinced that the ketogenic diet is the best for me and I can always use more people who embrace that way of eating to share ideas with and help each other along. Feel free to add me. Recent studies, particularly over the past decade, have shown that a low carb high fat diet (including…
  • A couple ideas that immediately come to mind. Saute the chicken. Buy boneless, or debone the chicken yourself. Pound it flat. Then you can either lightly bread it; or season it and saute in butter and/or oil. If you're going low-fat; you can saute without extra oils in a non-stick pan with some cooking spray. I'm following…
  • I have to disagree with this; or at least this would disqualify me. I don't have a self picture and don't plan to have one. Possibly forever. I don't think this is indicative of how active you will be; as my case shows.
  • 1. Would you be interested in doing a second challenge when this one ends? Yes. I have found this to be very motivating and would like it to continue. 2. Would you be interested in being a "Challenge Mod?" Someone who comes up with challenges for the group, creates challenge threads, and helps people stay motivated. We…
  • I'm game. I sure need to move more. I got one of those activity trackers recently and the main thing it has shown me is that I am extraordinarily sedentary and that I'm not getting enough sleep. I already knew that before I got the tracker; but I didn't realize just how much. I'm taking an incremental approach to all of…
  • Shouldn't runner115 with an incredible 8.4% (12.6 pounds lost) be in first place?

  • I'm glad you had a great vacation. What I'm most proud of with this team is the fact that we still have almost all of our original team still at it. And that definitely includes you becks. You kept in touch through out your vacation! That's fantastic. If we all just keep plugging at this we'll all get where we want to go.…
  • Low-fat (no fat?) vinaigrette's do exist. But they are a sin against nature in my opinion. What in the world did they substitute for the oil to make a vinaigrette - I shudder at the thought. And many Vinaigrette's sneak in lots of carbs. Personally I like Marie's Balsamic Vinaigrette. It's among the lower carb of the…
  • A couple other options: 1) Higher fat meats like Chicken Thighs, Beef, or Bacon 2) Cheese
  • I've been monitoring things as well.

  • When I have it, which is usually with a dessert, it's with heavy cream and splenda. I have a small, very very delicious dessert with coffee about once a week. I tend to nibble at the dessert and slowly sip the coffee and keep the portions down; but savor every bite/sip.
