I learned how to eyeball portions and eat 4oz protein, veggies etc. I apologize to the wait staff when I order and explain I'm dieting (have to use the dirty word). I ask for no/low oil, substitutions. I'm going back on Nutrisystem, but I was on it last year and lost weight while dining out. I was shocked the first time -…

For anyone else who was looking for the info I was: NS Breakfast Entree = 1 Protein + 1 Carb (about 110-160 calories) Total Breakfast Should Include: 1 protein + 1 fruit + 1 carb + 1 dairy Try here to find a good cereal: http://greatist.com/health/best-healthy-cereal-brands NS Lunch Entree = 1-2 proteins + 1 carb (about…

That website is a nice place to start. Some of the grocery store comparisons aren't really great, but I'd eventually like to get myself away from processed foods again. As it is, I'm eating fat free cheese... like, that's just weird.

Food Calorie Counts Carb 1 20 calories or less, but try to stay around 90-100 cals if possible Fat approx 40 calories per serving Fruit approx 60 calories per serving Dairy or Protein at least 7g of protein, 3g or less of fat, and 100 calories or less per serving Vegetable approx 20 cal/svg -- 1/2 cup cooked to 1 cup raw…

I'll look into those. I only looked at Skinny Cow vanilla. Weight Watchers has some good stuff too!

Once I finalize my first few recipes in my collection, I'll share!

I'm a nerd, so I'm actually doing my research. haha I've gotten some recipes and ideas. I like the NS food, but I'm getting a little tired of the same rotation of things (the meal times and snacks - I eat all the time). I need more variety in my diet. And I need how to learn how to cook with more protein and fiber... so…

Thanks! Checking out that website now!

Today I made the BF eggs for dinner, so even though there isn't a flex breakfast, I made my own sandwich. One egg (I would have done whites, but I only had one egg left after I made his omelet) with chopped Swiss chard + slice of tomato + 1 oz. Cabot extra light cheddar (75% fat free) + Arnold sandwich thin (multi-grain).…

Yeah, and the frozen foods are way better than the ready-to-go options, but I share a freezer (an NYC apartment freezer) with another person. I'm owning the freezer right now.

SERIOUSLY! It felt like the skin on my face and chest would pulse off my body. Lightning in the brain is no good.

Congrats!

Congrats. I'm just starting my journey...

Well said. It's discouraging to hear people who think these are excuses. They aren't. There are reasons why someone develops a disorder. That's not a choice. The choice is what you did to get help. Very inspiring. Thanks for sharing.

Yeah, I wasn't depressed anymore, but I felt like sludge. Zero energy. That's why they added the Wellbutrin. Coming off Lexipro was NOTHING compared to the nightmare of coming off Effexor.

Thanks. That was a nice response and I needed that. It's so strange to find comfort in strangers, but I needed someone. I was looking around on some other threads and they get nasty. Thanks for being positive. I worked a long night shift and should get to bed before I get hungry again (haha). I'm going to look for a group…

Truth. I can't avoid a grocery store like an alcoholic can avoid a bar. (NOT saying alcoholics have it easy, not in any capacity. Addiction/Compulsion whatever you want to call it kind of runs in my family.

This might not be the group for me. Thanks.

I have a psychiatrist and I used to see a psychologist before I moved, but have an appt with a therapist next week. I was just wondering if anyone has used groups... I finally admitted my problem and would like to do everything I can to set myself up for success (and learn how to deal with failure).

Yeah, I need to get on an exercise program. It does help with my anxiety and energy level.

I have family triggers and stress/anxiety. Started back on MFP (this is week two). Had healthy meals prepared. Allowed myself "real" meals (whatever I cooked for my BF for dinner). This week talked myself out of a binge twice and had a super close call this morning (like, called and cancelled the food order I ordered…

I finally admitted that I binge and purge. The doctor switched my meds to help with this. I have family triggers and and stress triggers. I controlled it all week, but almost made a major mistake today. Luckily, I was able to cancel the food order and have a healthy snack. In PA, there were no support groups in my area.…

I just learned that if you have bulimia, you shouldn't be on Wellbutrin. It can trigger seizures. I was on Lexipro (which helped with the depression) and Wellbutrin (which gave me energy), but just had my Lexipro switched for Prozac. I was told it will stop my urge to binge.
-
I thought the thread was to talk about food addiction. Is there a thread for support? I had a bad morning, overcame it and thought maybe a "support group," even an online one might help me. I'm trying very hard to stop binging and purging and all anyone on here is doing is setting up triggers, regurgitating studies they…

I've yo-yo'd with my weight and I've gone from a high school C to a small B/A. Sad days.

hahahaha This is the best thread that came from a ridiculous question ever. So glad I ignored instinct and clicked.

bahahahahaha

I found that MFP tries to make everyone start at 1200, which is just silliness, but I totally agree about eating what you earn. It's also a fun bonus when you workout lots to see how much extra room in your calorie budget you get!

Your BMR is how many cals you need to stay the weight you are. I've heard my RD cousin say that in order to drop 1lb a week, I need to exercise off 500 calories daily, but I'm a bigger girl than you are. She figured out my BMR and my calories according to my fitness activities. I've been dropping about 100cals under my BMR…

Okay, that makes sense. If I just do what I've been doing (eating my calories earned), it still works. I've thought about taking measurements, but I'm not good at doing them myself. Maybe I can run over mom's and have her do it. especially since I've been exercising more, it would probably be a boost to see inches lost.
