  • I am trying to tone and lose weight. I understand the toning may be more difficult and I have consulted my surgeon. I was told that I could increase to low impact and then as I feel conformable and am no longer in pain, then I may resume to high impact. She told me that this typically takes 6 months or longer. I am mostly…
  • Sorry for the late response guys, I've been extremely busy trying to get a bunch of stuff done the past couple of weeks. I've been tested for every known thing possible, and the only thing the doctors can come up with is a Vitamin D issue. I was at a level 14, I go back in a couple of days to have it re-tested. Everything…
  • Thanks, everyone :) Even if it helps one person, the story has accomplished what it was meant too.
  • The doctor and I are still trying to get my thyroid under control. My previous doctor wasn't treating it correctly (I believe), so I went out and found a new doctor. My levels keep fluctuating between normal low, normal high and high, so all of my symptoms (being tired all the time, no energy, no sex drive, issues losing…
  • What is your thyroid level? Mine is at 4.22 and the doctor stated it was "normal" even though the ranges have been revised for it. I knew something was wrong when I began to gain weight without changing anything. Have all of your vitamin levels been tested?
  • Thanks, I don't work out, and I'm completely stationary during the day (office job). I physically cannot work out due to some health issues (not related to weight). I have no energy at all, which is part of the problem. The doctor has been running tests for the past 2 years to find out the issue here. Working out or even…
  • True story. I have heard good things about Armour. Really discuss with your doctor about what medication is right for you. Levothyroxine is so commonly (and wrongly) prescribed that it's an automatic go-to for hypothyroidism.
  • I am hypo too, and it is extremely hard. My recommendation is when you get the test results back that you set up an appointment with your doctor to go over it. I've been researching and trying to further explain my symptoms and why they haven't gone away. I now believe it to be because I'm on the wrong thyroid medication.…
  • Thanks, I'll take a look at it, I had no idea!
  • Unless you have celiac disease, from what I understand, gluten intolerance does not show up on the test unless it's severe. And I would have just wasted 70 dollars (20 for my PCP for a referral, and 50 co-pay for the specialists). One way to know for certain is to go gluten free for so many weeks and then start…
  • Thanks, I don't think its IBS. I have been going gluten-free today, eating nothing that contains gluten, and I haven't been bloated or my stomach painful, which allows me to believe that I have a sensitivity to it.
  • I stopped taking Celexa and was so hungry (still am) that I can't control the urges, no matter what I do. I've gained 15 pounds so far, and I had JUST lost 40 pounds before I started taking Celexa. I've read a bunch of reports stating that coming off of Celexa you can gain weight. If I had known...I would have never…
  • My doctor just switched me to Celexa from Welbutrin. I was all wellbutrin, but had horrible side-effects, feeling tired all the time, mood was every where, I felt good for the first week, but then went downhill after that. My doctor has also put me on Adderall as well (twice a day), which will help suppress any…
  • Great! Thanks for all the help guys!
  • Should I be logging my exercise as well or is that accounted for in the TDEE if I select moderately active?
  • I wish I was in the healthy range...I'm several pounds away from it, and everything I have is ALL FAT. I adjusted it like you said, and it is almost accurate to the Scooby calculate when I did the lightly active.
  • If I recalculate as 3-5 hours of moderate exercise. It says I should eat 1917 (-20%). Is it better to do it this way or to factor in the workouts manually? Does anyone know exactly how it's determining how many calories you'd be burning during those 3-5 hours a week?
  • How would I recalculate my TDEE to include the excerise? Would I mark it as lightly active on the Scooby calculator?
  • I third? I've been abused emotionally and mentally by a guy before and thought I had to change to the way he wanted, but the reality of the situation is, if he can't respect you for who you are now, at what is supposed to be the height of your life, what makes you think he will show any respect for you at the lowest point?…
  • Your body hasn't had a chance to catch up, which is usually what happens when you plateau. It means you aren't losing weight, but your body is changing itself. You should stick to a slow, steady, diet without binging, and keep working hard. You will see results when your body is ready to let go.
  • Thanks guys! I'll increase my calories intake!
  • I started doing this last week, and then took 4 days off because I was so sore. Got back into Monday and I can do 4 push-up's (more than what I started out with). I took yesterday off so spend time with my family but I still went to the gym, will definitely be picking it back up tonight! Can't wait for my results!
  • Thanks, Melody! I think I will investigate and see what is out there and try to educate myself. Until then, I will not give up!
  • The biggest thing is to wean you off of the sugar and the caffeine. And as much as it sucks, it will hurt, as you will suffer headaches and such from it. Honestly, several weeks into it, you will have almost no craving for soda or sweets at that point. You need to eat foods that naturally give you energy:…
  • Thanks, I appreciate it and need all the support I can get to keep going!
