I am actually right now on my vacation in New York City. It is our20th wedding anniversary trip so I am not too concerned what I am eating but I do want to log daily. So I eat what I eat. In my situation I think LITTLE bit what I eat, but not really. I figure, I eat what I eat, and I walk miles and miles per day. We have…

If your diary is correct, you missed lunch and you are over 400 calories UNDER. That is why you are hungry. You can eat all those 400 cals and not even feel guilty. No fun being hungry, so just eat please

And if you want to increase your calories and try the TDEE system, this is a easy link for instructions for that (there is an link to an advance version too) http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/975707-fat-loss-tactics-guide

I agree with above poster. Protein is good. Only worry about IF you consistently stay under. Are you starving with 1200 calories? That is low.

Also, just a gentle question: are you eating enough calories? I know, I know...this the ongoing thing on this board, but eating enough relatively good stuff helps you kill the binge eating. I first went by MFP calculations (and I even put the the recommended 0.5-1lb/week loss) and I was soooooo hungry. It was bad. I don't…

This ^ I use this spreadsheet and I LOVE it!!! If it is "too scary", "too much math", "too overwhelming" - there is a simple way to get to the same place. Read the thread below and do the calculations. Once you get that number eat towards it. You might have to increase your calories by 200/week until you reach the number.…

This^ Yes, it is time consuming and tedious to log the calories, but it gets better after you do it for a bit since most of us eat at least some of the same foods and you can "copy" them, make "my meals" etc that saves time. But how do you know it is not working if you are not doing it properly.....Also were you perhaps…

Nothing. For me it is the same than some other people before said - if I want it and love it and it fits in my daily/weekly calorie numbers - i will eat it. But yes, I also have stopped to think "Is it worth it? Do I really want it?" before I put it in my mouth, since everything that goes in has to be logged. If answer is…

TDEE system is working for me. I love the fact that I do not feel hungry, I learn to eat the way I will be eating the rest of my life. So in that sense this not a diet at all, but a lifestyle change. This method is lot simpler since you do not try to figure out how many calories you burned exercising. This is just plain…

3 weeks is a SHORT time. It might take little longer for things to "settle". And I don't know about you, but if I weigh myself daily (which I do not do now) I noticed that my weight can go up for 3-4 lb sometimes and that is just normal (time of the month/water/salt/whatevers). And it is perfectly okay to drink wine/eat…

Hah - unfortunately there is NOT ANY magic weight loss tool or food or exercise fad......Big sigh! It is only the damn deficit and exercise

That is an EXCELLENT idea to leave whole bunch of calories for evening.....I will try it.

Excellent advice. I have to try these. I love puddingy things so chia pudding sounds delish. Thanks for tips.

It is hard to loose weight. And even harder when you have other things going on in your life. Just do your best. That is all you can do. I also have a sweet tooth. A bad one. What helped for me (and everybody is different) is to increase those calories (I'm doing TDEE-15%). What happens with these systems (also the link I…

How do they taste like? How else can you use them except adding them to soups, yogurts, baking? Interesting
-
^This. I fully agree. Regardless what - put it down. You ate it, you log it. And it does make you think when you know you "have to" log it.

You are not alone. You are here with all of us and we are all doing the same thing. Don't worry about what happened. It will be fine. Just keep at it! Make sure you are eating enough. If your goals are too low, you are going to feel miserable and it is easier to fail. if you are following the calorie amounts that MFP gives…

Hello my name is Nannukka and I'm a sugar addict. Yes, hard for me too. I have also been able to limit my sugar craving by eating food and not being hungry, but I do need my daily fix. At least now. I can limit it so as long as I plan for it and fits my daily goals, I will eat it. That way I do not go overboard. But this…

Obviously there is some history and relationship dynamics between some of the posters there hat I am not aware of. But let me just say, that I'm not quite understanding all the hostility (or what comes of like that). It has been stated that all the systems have their pros and cons and their fans. And like somebody way…

I like this! When I started I did the calculations through MFP too. Even though I put for the goal to loose only 0.5 lb/week the calories were still too low for the amount of exercise. And you are right, trying to figure out the exercise calories is pain, so I chose this method instead: eat more to loose more. I follow…

Like the other wise people above me have said: make sure you fuel your body and be super patient. Your weight will go up and down, but there will be steady downward trend. You have to tolerate the ups or non-movements and just breath and trust that it will be ok. Because it will. You work out a lot so make sure you eat to…

TDEE is easier system in my opinion. Another plus is that you can go on like this (by tweaking numbers once you get to maintenance level) forever which equals lifestyle change compared to "diet". You might loose slower, but you will loose and this will be better for your body and your mind. It is great to eat!!! People…

hah! I really need to try these protein bars and maybe even shakes. I guess I could use the powder, shake it up and drink it outside the courtroom in our private hallway or in the car when we come back from country courts when I'm there. It DOES make sense that the protein would help me tremendously with curbing my hunger…

i love this.....

Do the raw veggies help you with hunger though? That was my issue: feeling so hungry during exercise days. I would love to make some protein shakes but since I'm at work and not the kind of work where I can just stop and go make a shake, that is not feasible. They sound delicious though!!! Maybe I should try protein bars,…

Re:protein shakes - aren't those high in calories? Are you making your own or do you use the ready made ones? And if later what brands/flavors you like?
-
Thanks, that is true. I should probably pay more attention to my protein/fiber intake. I will try hard boiled eggs, cottage cheese etc next week and see if that makes a difference. I am already doing peanut butter: peanut butter spread on top of a banana is my new favorite. But it is scary how fast all that adds up. Good…

Oh I eat.....I am doing TDEE -15 per haybales spreadsheet. I'm supposed to eat 1925/day, which on exercise days I do make. I tend to go with weekly calorie goals more than daily so there are few days when it looks like I didn't make my net calories, but for that week I'm sure I did. I am certainly not a girl who eats 1200…

Bump......I have to try. I like the sound of it. yum

Thanks so much! I used both tips just now. I made my breakfast "my meal" since that is always the same and I just tried the quick tools method too and that is totally doable Awesome. What ever I can do to make this logging less difficult the better!!! Funny how you get used to this though. in the beginning this seemed so…
