I was talking to a few people and they mentioned Chia seeds and the benefits of them, i was wondering if any of you have ever used them for diet purposes? If so do or did they work for you????? I was reading quite a few articles on them and they say they work for so many different things, so i was just wondering what your intake on them are...

I have just recently started using Chia seeds for health and diet reasons. Figured it could only help to have a little more protein and fiber. Seems to help keep me feeling full.0

I put them in my yogurt and in soups. A good dose of fiber if nothing else.0

I have some in my cupboard but what helps me with my diet is eating a variety of foods, staying at or below my TDEE, and trying to get close to my macro goals. I like chia and flax in baked goods and sometimes I play around with making lentil sprouts and thought I'd plant my own home made chia pet one day if I don't eat all the seeds first. My Favourite food that helps my diet is peanut butter:). I think it all has to do with personal preference.0

Wow ,how did you loose so much weight?0

How do they taste like? How else can you use them except adding them to soups, yogurts, baking? Interesting0

I don't think they taste like anything. I like to make chia gel (4 T chia added to 2 cups of water. Stir and refrigerate overnight) and then add the gel (about 1/2 c) to my protein shake. The texture of the gel is vaguely like tapioca pudding - soft and squishy. You can add chia to any liquid and make chia "pudding" as well.
Sometimes i add the plain chia seeds to yogurt or salads for some crunch.
They're a nice way to add fiber and omega-3's to your diet0 -
I use the ground chia seeds in my protein shakes. I add about 2 tbsp ground chia along with the protein powder and 1 cup almond milk. They have a faint, nutty taste but it is usually covered up by the flavor of my protein powder. I use them as an additive to get extra omegas, protein and fiber. Flax seeds are great too. I use the Salba premium ground variety.0

Excellent advice. I have to try these. I love puddingy things so chia pudding sounds delish. Thanks for tips.0

I'm not sure what you mean by "did they work". I use them, yes, and they are useful in some recipes...like overnight oats. They're healthy...fiber, protein, healthy oils. But they aren't a magic weight loss tool. They're just a food you might want to eat.0

Hah - unfortunately there is NOT ANY magic weight loss tool or food or exercise fad......Big sigh! It is only the damn deficit and exercise0
