Was at Sprouts farmer's market, and asked about the nutritional content of the rolled oats. wanted to make sure it was uncooked weight on the packaging because it was so different than the organic rolled oats (regular was actually lower calorie than the organic in the end). But, when I asked the guy who worked there he…

You want this to be a lifestyle change, not a diet. Avoiding social interaction because you are scared of food shows that you do not yet have a healthy relationship with food. You must enjoy your life too. Our society is very food-centric so most activities/social gatherings will involve food of some type. If we are going…

I cry by Flo Rida http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OLuWHr6-0YQ It's the new warm up song for the latest release of Bodypump and if it can get me in a good mood at 5:45 on a Monday morning it can do the same for you!!

Make time for yourself. You will feel better and be a better mom for it. I have a three year old and a one year old and a full time job. I still find time to work out 6 days a week (usually at 5 am) and cook meals 6 out of the 7 nights and make lunches for both my husband and me every day. Have a protein bar for breakfast…

I unfortunately look older i think...or at least my age

I almost always work out on an empty stomach (running) since I go right when I wake up but I've started waking up at about 5am for a bodypump class at the gym and found that eating a Quest bar on the way to class has given me way more energy and I can work out harder in the class. I haven't tried it with running yet but I…

I am on the Quest bar bandwagon. You can also get them on Amazon. I am working my way through every flavor...So far cookie dough has been my favorite, followed by apple pie. 10 secs in microwave...yummy!!

Breakfast that keeps me the fullest: two pieces of low cal toast (or a bagel slim, or a whole wheat pita pocket, or a flat out wrap - all are ~100 cal or less each), 1 egg beefed up with egg whites (i buy the container of egg whites), and a bit of fat free cheese maybe, veggies if i make it into an omelet. maybe a little…

So many of the things on your list will have high sodium - veggie dip, bacon, thousand island dressing, breads, mayo, cheese. If you are really watching your sodium then you will have to alter some of these things. Make your own dressings to cut out the sugar and sodium (skinnytaste.com has some good ones). Look for low…

This is the link I got it from: http://www.livestrong.com/article/255892-soba-noodles-nutrition/ Quoted from the article: "A cup of soba noodles has 113 calories. That compares with about 200 calories for a cup of white-flour pasta. The calories in soba noodles still are made up mostly of carbohydrates, at 24.44 g. That…

I can't help you but just want you to know I feel your pain. I am 25 pounds lighter than I was prior to my first baby (have two now) and I have a belly still that I can roll up on itself. My collar bones, ribs, and hip bones stick out uncomfortably and I still have the belly. I think it's genetic....sigh.

Bump - hopefully someone knows?

There are some great low carb high fiber tortilla/wraps out there. Tortilla Factory makes a few different ones, as does the FlatOut company for wraps. Check them out.

Another thing I like about almond milk is that it lasts in the fridge a lot longer than cow's milk

I am up higher in calroes now, but I did do 1200 cals for about 6 weeks or so back in March. I found the best way to stick to it was to find low calorie recipies that had lots of veggies and proteins. The protein really does make you feel fuller longer. Breakfast was often egg white omelets or greek yogurt with a lower…

Almond milk is much lower in calories than whole milk and has more calcium, but it does have less protein - so pick your trade off I suppose. I use unsweetened almond milk in my overnight oats and it only has 30 calories per cup so it keeps the overall calories low on my oatmeal. For example, this morning I has 1.5…

I am right around there - 5'4.5" (the half is very important) and ~142, but my size depends in the brand - 4, 6, 8. My body fat is around 23% - I have always been very muscular. I am happy here, though after two kids I have a pooch that I am sure is not going anywhere. I currently weigh 18 lbs less than when my first child…

My peeling nails were from a fat deficiency in my diet.

Absolutely no basis for this other than my own thoughts - I think at some point the human body just can't absorb all of calories and passes some of it through. It gets as much as it can and then passes on the rest. For those that get morbidly obese they usually have something going on in their body that isn't right…

I alleviate this by exercising early in the morning before they really wake up or doing it after they have gone to bed. I spend a lot of time prepping/cooking meals too and I either involve my 3 year old or have them playing by me so I can multi-task. I also do the majority of it when they are in bed at night. I often feel…
