  • Awesome post! This should really have a star beside it.
  • Wooo boy. I thought it might be neat to get something that can give me more accurate and detailed information, but no way can I afford 100$+ on a gadget. Bummer.
  • Best toasted dessert ever: 1 long slice of good-quality bread, natural peanut butter, slices of bananas, and a bunch of (mini) chocolate chips. Stick in a toaster oven until the chocolate chips melt. Amazing.
  • I'm 142lbs 5"2' and have been eating super healthy with lots of protein and exercising lots including pushups. I've lost a lb in the last 2 1/2 weeks that I started this so I've been on a plateau this whole time but I know my body needs to readjust and that I can't trust the scale, so I'm not thinking about it too much. I…
  • Sounds delicious! I love baking with oats.
  • I pre-log as well and try to guess the kind and amount of exercise I will do the following day. I make adjustments as needed afterwards. Works very well for me.
  • I was flipping through the channels today and came across the end of the last episode of Next Top Model or something like that, and the girl who won, she looked like she was anorexic! Her arms were really too skinny looking, yet she was deemed as beautiful, as the best. *shakes head*
  • I'm one of those that starts losing lbs from my breasts before anywhere else. You made me think of a friend who said something particular which might interest you in case you're a big soy-eater. She said that she drank lots of soy milk and ate lots of stuff with soy because it made her breasts bigger, but at the same time…
  • Besides chocolate and peanut butter, I am addicted to baked sweets, and I love to bake, so lately I just don't buy flour and don't bake anymore - Out of sight, out of mind... and belly! I also like to have vermicelli or rice for supper instead of pasta, which has got me using more veggies. I'm happy with the results.…
  • That is ridiculous. You do not look overweight at all. If you're overweight, I'm extremely obese... We don't need to look like the sticks in magazines, geez. You look wonderful. You're taller than an average girl so it's normal that you weigh a bit more.
  • Very interesting, thanks for the story. I didn't know you could get tested for that; Now I'm curious about my own. I wonder if I'm heading for the same direction as you. I've been working out more and more - Yesterday I burned 1400 calories but ended up with a deficit of 600 calories. I sure didn't feel it though - I felt…
  • I'm not an avocado fan either, unless I use it in desserts. My favorite recipe is one ripe avocado, 4 very ripe bananas, and about 1/4 cup cocoa powder. Blend, let chill in fridge AT LEAST an hour, and enjoy! Makes 2-3 portions. Delish.
  • Bah, scales... Considering I just shocked my body with a huge diet and exercise change-up, and considering my scale is probably not the best because it'll slide 1-2 pounds within a minute of being used... I still weigh myself every day just to see but I don't take it too seriously.
  • Spread out throughout the day: 50 minutes of biking in the city, then 45 minutes of solo tennis in a racquetball court, then 65 minutes more of biking, then 5 sets of pushups averaging 17 pushups each and it's frikkin hot outside I AM TIRED @_@. I'm not used to all this exercise. That was like 1400 calories burned off, but…
  • Considering you're short on time, are short on time and money, I suggest you focus on your eating habits. You can at least do that for now, and it really doesn't need to be expensive or time-consuming to make your own food. You'll need to do some research, but once you get in the groove of things and change your diet…
  • -Eat healthy, wholesome foods. No exceptions unless you feel you deserve it and it's a healthy alternative. -Exercise regularly, and have it be something you enjoy. -Keep track of your exercise and food intake to keep yourself balanced.
  • I never thought of giving myself a reward... Hmmm, probably buy a nice new piece of clothing, and I like the idea of getting a tattoo! A quote, or maybe a small piece of art behind my ear.
  • Wow, niiice transformation =)
  • Good job! Proud of ya. I know it can be difficult to make the change when your tastesbuds are so used to all the sugar, salt and fat. Keep goin!
  • Fruuuuit. So are bell peppers, tomatoes and zucchini. And while I'm at it, bell peppers have much more vitamin C than oranges do.
  • I was vegan once and tried vegannaise. It's nice! I'm not crazy about eating lots of soy byproducts though.
  • I like them but they're more of a treat. My favorite is chocolate peanut butter, then white macadamia nut. I once found them for 50 cents each at Whole Foods just before I went volunteering in the desert mountains of Arizona so yeah I spent a week mostly feeding myself on Cliffbars haha. For post-workout I usually make my…
  • Heya! Oh, a fellow Canadian too! Feel free to add me!
  • Also, carrots go surprisingly well with natural peanut butter!
  • Cheesy Kale chips! Ingredients: 1/2 bunch kale (6 cups lightly packed), 1/4 cup nutritional yeast, 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil, 1/8-1/4 tsp salt. Directions: Rinse the kale and shred it into pieces. Stir the olive oil, lemon juice/nutritional yeast and sea salt together in a bowl. Add the kale to the bowl and coat the…
  • I love and recomment "The World's Healthiest Foods" by George Mateljan - The book is frikkin huge but it's packed with super simple and healthy, wholesome recipes, with nutritional information for each of the 100 foods he focuses on, plus information on cooking healthily, nutrients and vitamins. It's like a bible in my…
  • Woooow, what a beautiful change! Keep at it!
  • I have the same problem as you! My calories, fat, carbs and sodium are under the radar, but my protein and sugar are always over and I've got my stuff set to 50%carbs /20%protein /30%fat. I'm also over on my fiber which I've already uped but I don't care about that, it works fine for me. I'm trying to gain muscle by…
  • I love making icecream with flavored greek yogurt. I don't have an icecream machine so I just stick it in the blender or mush it around with a fork several times inbetween freezing it. Sometimes I'll add things like caramelized banana and it's heaven in my mouth.
