  • your posture has also greatly improved. good going!
  • It is true; members are highly judgemental of weight loss surgeries. I, too, am judgmental about the lack of will, HOWEVER, you cited pain as a leading problem and I get it. I also have it. I understand your rush to relieve the pain. Luckily, moderate exercise helps my pain. Good luck!
  • seems like you have a lot on you plate. can you delegate any or more tasks to your children?
  • My doctor suggested a 1200 cal. intake with 300 calorie meals and 100 calorie snacks for my sedentary life at that time. Also 35-45g carbs per meal, 10g for snacks. I did it and it worked. I wasn't every starving and I didn't have to buy expensive food. However, my stragedy derailed because I didn't update my dietary needs…
  • Research your dining choice before you arrive. If nutritional info. is not available, you have the right to go elsewhere. And producing the nutritional info. is expensive, time consuming, and for some businesses accuracy is an issue. Accuracy being a big reason why most restaurants include a disclaimer about the accuracy…
  • before i found a good sports bra, i two teamed it. lol. layering one mediocre sports bra over one supportive everyday type bra. it was a bit extra work, but held me together until i invested in a GREAT sports bra.
  • i was just craving hot chips. lol you can do it! i think after a while you'll lose the taste for them. i gave up diet soday for lent three years ago and haven't had it since. i tried once, but the taste was just disgusting.
  • great going! keep going!
  • HIT THE POOL! if you can get access to a pool, it would be great for you. you'd benefit from less stress/weight on you hip replacement/recovery and on your body overall, the resistance from the water burns more calories and depending on the exercises you're doing could be strength training, and it's just plain fun to…
  • i'm not sure about mfp but try http://www.diabetes.org (american diabetes association) and http://www.choosemyplate.gov (my plate) for good info and tips.
  • That's just it "a healthy persons' reaction" would not have reacted because 1707 is NOT a binge. Don't call it that. Instead think, "Today, I ate enough." Good luck finding your peace.
  • MFP sets net calories and expects you to eat back exercise calories. It isn't wrong, so "don't listen [to] the MFP recommendations" is an uninformed suggestion. you're only eating back 200 calories regardless of how many cals you burn? that may be where you need to make adjustments. i know i burn about 300 cals during…
  • lol. '2+2' does make it less daunting. though i usually think "i can make it to (place) in (time)" and reset as i approach the site.
  • Yes. A big pet peeve of mine! One pound is one pound.
  • You could use a liquid egg product or take the time to configure the conversion and make an omlette the next morning with the remaining eggs.…
  • My actions have the opposite effect on my boyfriend. He eats what I prepare and effortlessly loses weight while I've taken the initiative to research, weigh, and prepare food; calculate and log numbers; and lead the exercise (right now i'm in a slump).
  • I think the most effective solution is to bake/cook what you NEED. Leftovers are great for a quick meal when you're in a hurry, but it isn't worth cooking that much if the portion becomes 'seconds'.
  • It is difficult to offer any good advice without access to your food diary. 1) You could have starved yourself during the first week 2) You could be starving yourself now 3) You may be eating to many empty calories 4) You may not be eating enough calories Really the possibilities are numerous.
  • Definitely check out Chipotle's nutrition website. You can add/delete specific items, i.e., salsas, cheese, etc. Rather than getting an opinion from an MFP member, you'll get accurate numbers.
  • Posting on the community page invites all members to comment and some of the members won't be as nice as others. Maybe posting on your own page is a better option. I do believe that there is no such thing as a stupid question, but it's clear you haven't done any research on the specific subject. You received many good and…
  • There is such a thing as too much water. Things to remember: 1.) Other water containing beverages CONTAIN water (lol) and do actually count for hydrating purposes 2.) Foods contain water 3.) Drinking too much water can have the opposite effect and dehydrate you. 4) I haven't, but you should probably research the verdict on…
  • Please ask yourself, 'what will happen if i don't exercise today?' Contemplate your answers...will they cause the end of the world? Breathe. You'll be okay.
  • Until four years ago, I hadn't met anyone else with a similar allergy. He was 6 years old, poor kid :( But, his parents seemed to make it easier for him :D The father told me it's a Birch pollen allergy.
  • Fresh fruit! Causes swelling and irritation to my face/neck internal and ex[termal]. The worst I remember my throat nearly swelled shut, yikes! Allergy reactions were severe in my teens and have lessened, except watermelon. And I'm glad it did, because I never really stopped eating fruit. I like to live life on the edge, i…
  • very good points!
  • "feeling hungry is not a nice feeling"? please, please, please, tell me this was sarcasm! instead try MOVING and eating GOOD FOOD :D "I will exercise more if need be." not the attitude to have. while it's great that you're not a couch potato (chores and taking care of your son), it really isn't exercise, it's simply your…
