I've done a few "Stair Climb" races... the ones I did were 54 stories I think. I trained for both of them by running and walking up and down stairs for a few weeks before hand (I found the tallest parking decks in town that I could and used their stairs)... so I think if you give yourself some time to practice and see what…

Disagree. It's more about the nutrition that you get from the 1500 calories you eat. 1500 calories of brocolli a day (as unreasonable as that is), is NOT going to have the same effect on weight loss as 1500 calories of cheese burgers a day.

My husband and I use a cookbook called Thrive Foods: 200 Plant Based Recipes for Peak Health by Brendon Brazier quite often. Some things in the book are a little strange and hard to find, but we've found that once we have all of these things on hand they appear quite often throughout the book, so it's not like you're…

Word up.

You mean "who's"?

Agree. Nike+ or RunKeeper are good ones. Nike+ allows you to post your walks to Facebook and your friends can cheer you on while you are en route. You'll get a cheering crowd noise in your headphones during your workout, which is a fun motivation! It's cool to keep track of progress too.

Wendy's posts the calorie content of all of their food online. Just adjust it for how much you ate.
-
As it should be... my husband and I do this for each other. Sometimes you just have to ask, I guess.

Old fashioned oats with a spoonful of organic brown sugar and a handful of fresh blueberries. The. Best.

I'm 5'2', and I've noticed it's UNREASONABLE to eat only 1200 calories per day. I would get discouraged because I had to work out just to eat dinner. So I increased my calories to 1350, which, to me, still seems like a low enough number, but more realistic. My husband's nutritionist said something interesting to him a few…

I WISH my butt were the first to go!! Usually it's my boobs that go first (not so nice), then my arms (which IS nice). My legs and butt are always last. But I know I'm in good shape when I am happy with them!

I am WITH YA on this one!! I think drinking a lot of water helps, but it really just depends on the day. When you figure it out, let me know. I HATE IT :)

Yep, I was thinking the same thing...

Keep it up! Do NOT get discouraged after a week. Keep exercising... I swear that's the secret. There is no way that if you keep doing what you are doing that you won't lose weight!
-
Of course it won't fix things between you and your boyfriend, but exercise WILL make you feel a little more optimistic. I always feel in control, strong, and more sure of myself when I am exercising. It sounds like that's what you need right now... go for a run instead of sitting in a tense quiet house. It's still going to…

How about Hansens? You can get it at Trader Joe's and some other places. I think it's all natural...

Is your lesson on WHEN to use one versus the other, or HOW to use both of them?

Actually, I've heard eating certain things before bed is not only not a bad thing, but can have some benefits as well. Who knows if this is true, but Shape magazine had an article that had to do with eating high-fiber carbs (like popcorn) before bed, and that it actually helps you sleep better! Personally, I don't eat…

I totally do that!! If it's too early to go to bed, I go for a walk first. Exercise seems to help me control my munchies.

100 calorie packs of kettle corn. It kicks the salty and sweet cravings at the same time. And it is so much food it feels like you are spluging!
-
I've heard a couple of different things on this... Similar to the Weight Watcher plan, you can save up your "points" every week and use them to splurge once a week. I've sort of been doing the same thing with my calories lately. If I go under by a couple hundred calories one day, I figure I can go over by the same amount…
