Hi Denise! I'm Donna and I'm starting at 333lbs. Phew. It can be a little overwhelming. I'm going to do it. I need to have patience. Would LOVE support, advice, and accountability. Thanks!

Same here. Started over again this morning and could really use encouragement. I have a long way to go. Please add me. I'm not even sure I remember how to do that!

1- Where are you from? Be as specific or vague as you'd like. Out in the middle of nowhere in Wisconsin :) 2- What is one challenge that worries you this week? Being consistent. I'm great at getting started. I WILL be great at keeping going!! Thanks for helping me be accountable!! Also looking forward to being able to…

I'm in! I used myfitnesspal years ago and really liked it. Now I've forgotten how to use it!

I'm 5' 11" and used a BMI calculator to set my goal. I want to be at "Ideal BMI". I figured that's a good way to set the goal. Here's one (but PLEASE) ignore what website it's on: http://www.obesitysurgerydallas.com/bmi.html Another thing that I thought was REALLY helpful for me was: http://www.modelmydiet.com/ It gave me…

Thank you all!! Going to grind now...

I eat a lot of vegetables - as it's getting to be Fall, I bake acorn squash and butternut squash and eat LOTS. No toppings needed. I eat spinach in my eggs in the morning, then have grilled chicken over a spinach salad. I try to keep both raw veggies for snacking and lots of easy-to-microwave frozen vegetables. I love the…

Thanks all!

Sometimes it's overwhelming! Is it just because it's January?? there are just SO many posts and people!

I agree with all - you can Inspire by doing, but he has to motivate himself. There are, however, some things that might help. I'm very out of shape, but my hubby is in good shape. He's clever about how he "helps" me. - Keep healthy foods around the house and junk out of the house. Easier said than done. - Plan some…

When I worked at a fast food place, I finally just had to swear off of eating ANYTHING from there. Work there long enough and you'd get sick of it anyway. Free dollar cost does not mean free from bad results. Let your choice of a great future be BIGGER and STRONGER than any quick-fix of "happy" eating now.

Sounds silly, but really do try the gum. One time I bought all the flavors of Trident and Extra and tried a new one each time I was hungry. Some were terrible, but it was rather amusing. Also: remember that healthy choices CAN be easy. Stop at a grocery store and buy the already-cut fruit, or whole bananas and apples or…

Please add me as friend. Your post could have been right from me! I also have about 140 lbs to lose so will be here for a while! I WILL lose the weight. I need help with commitment after the first bit. Always good for a couple of weeks, then fall off/lose interest/make excuses/get busy..... I'm trying to focus on small…

After about 3 weeks, I am finding that some things get easier. I fail, I slip up, I get up, I try to do better. I have never been successful going cold turkey for more than about 2 days. I'm trying to make changes for the better. It is slow, but it IS happening. I try to keep it simple and let MFP set my goals. I am…

Hello!! I hope your vivo fit works well.
-
Waitressing is not "lightly active". Either way, the others are right. Start at one level and after a few weeks, see where your results are. You can adjust after that.
-
Start with little bits - little bits of movement wherever/whenever you can. But setting aside time in the day to actually sweat is important too, I think. I know a couple of people who have little pedal exercisers under their desk. Planning your meals is the most important, I think. It's too easy to get de-railed looking…

You can friend me. :) I just started about 10 days ago and I hear you!!

I was just cruising the board and saw your post. I'm confused. You have lost SEVENTY SEVEN pounds and you're having a meltdown because your body is sick?? Wait a minute. You are SO IMPRESSIVE. I'm just at the start of my weight loss and I do sometimes feel overwhelmed - already. You are DOING it and you have DONE it and…

Yes. Thank you!

Think about how fun it will be when you get back. Visualize weighing yourself and seeing a loss. Visualize clothes fitting better. Visualize having energy.
-
Visualize how you will look - both for you wedding and for beyond. But more importantly, visualize how you will FEEL. You know you can do it.
-
I certainly am no expert, but I do know that the ingredients in the "light" version of things are never good. Better to eat a small amount of "real" food than eat "fake" food. Even better - eat LOTS of "healthy" food like vegetables. Make sure you have enough protein and fat to fill you up, but eat vegetables like they're…
-
Sounds trite, but more protein and veggies, less bread and pasta. It really takes the weight off.
-
Don't know if it will work for you, but I found that protein HAS to be a part of breakfast or I crave everything sweet all day and night.
-
Welcome! I just started too!
-
I have LOTS to lose and just started. Please add me. :) Donna

Congratulations on TWO great wins! Getting started again is exactly where I'm at also and it feels good just to get going. Also - turning down Culver's sounds like wonderful commitment! Luckily I haven't had that temptation yet, but I'm only 2 days in. Good Luck!
