What is a healthy weight for a 6' female? Are there any other girls this height who have reached their goal weight? I think 150-160 would be healthy but people tell me that would be too low for my height.

I'm 5'11 and currently weigh 150 (size 6 jeans, M tops). So I'd say that range is perfectly normal. Depends on your body type.

I'm 5' 11" and used a BMI calculator to set my goal. I want to be at "Ideal BMI". I figured that's a good way to set the goal. Here's one (but PLEASE) ignore what website it's on: http://www.obesitysurgerydallas.com/bmi.html

Another thing that I thought was REALLY helpful for me was: http://www.modelmydiet.com/ It gave me a PICTURE of what I might look like at different weights. I thought it was AWESOME and even printed out a before and after!

Good luck! You can do it!

I'm about .25" under 6' and I'm making my goal 175lbs. Puts me into healthy BMI range and a weight that I could see myself being content with. (Who am I kidding? I'd be content with anything under 200 at this point! lol)

I also saw someone had posted this website a while back. It provides a great visual of different body types at different sizes: http://www.mybodygallery.com/search.html

Thank you for the links! Yeah, when I finally got under 200 it felt amazing. Something about that number just drives people crazy. Lol.

That can really vary. When I was 150, I'm 5'10", I wore size 10. I'm trying to get back there, though.
  • Hi, hope you don't mind a shorty chiming in here. Current BMI system might be a bit restrictive for taller people and a bit lenient for shorter people since lean mass don't scale up linearly. Oxford's math department came up with an equation that takes that into account.

    https://people.maths.ox.ac.uk/trefethen/bmi_calc.html

Not 100% sure of the science behind this, but 142 - 192 would be your healthy range according to this.

I'm a bit shorter than you 5'10"and am aiming for 160 (at 173 now, down from 226) and will reevaluate when I get there---- I'd say just keep going and if you get to a point where you no longer feel that you look good or feel good then stop. I think 160 sounds like a reasonable goal :) --- good luck!

    I'm about 5'11 and 145. Size 4-6. I think 150-160 at 6 feet is a nice lean athletic shape.
