Inspiring story! Thanks for sharing.

I agree with the other posters. If you really want to get more accurate, you can take it apart and weigh each ingredient to get closer to the actual cals. This will ruin the look of the food, but you will know from then on. Add 60 - 100 for butter or oil if they used it.

$93 month at the Y for 3 adults/3 children. Indoor/Outdoor Pool, exercise classes, weight room, basketball court, babysitting, discounted programs for the kids, etc. Problem is I only use it a few months a year, then stop, then remember I'm paying and start up again. I go thru this cycle every year.

It's split. I have some that are super supportive and encouraging. I have others who don't say a word. I'm not sure if that's the way I set up the relationship with them since I didn't want to talk about it when I was heavier but one word of support would be nice. Especially since I support them in everything. In the long…
Poor guys. They are stuck in the ever dreaded Friend Request Zone.
LOL!

Great progress! Excellent work.

I'm torn on the show. I don't watch it because it bothers me, but I've seen a few episodes. It really gets to me because I don't like the public weigh-ins, getting kicked off for not losing fast enough, the super intense workouts, the way it appears contestants don't receive on-going support after leaving the show, etc.…

Probably the worst day for me to respond to this post because these are all the things I need to stay away from today. 1) Favorite donut - Boston Creme 2) Favorite poptart - Strawberry Poptarts (oh, I haven't had one of these sugar filled devils in sooooo long.) 3) Favorite pie - Apple with a scoop of vanilla ice cream 4)…

Staying under = weight loss. I think with "clean eating" it's really that you get more for your cals than with prepared foods, usually also lower in sodium.

We get older, our bodies change, metabolism slows, you don't burn calories like you used to, routine of life takes over, you think you've got it under control, etc, etc etc..... I'm not sure if you're really asking because your interested or because "you don't understand how people can let themselves go." There's a lot of…

Excellent work!

I've been doing 5:2 (with an occasional 4:3) for over 7 months. I've lost 50lbs and feel great! My doctor said my blood work is excellent. I'm 5 lbs away from my goal and may go another 10 or 15 lbs for some wiggle room. I plan to do 6:1 once I get to me ideal weight.

I've heard a lot of people say that one day they started dumping again on things they've been able to eat for years. I still dump occasionally, it's just different than it was in the beginning. Like no throwing up, but stomach cramping or #3 (sorry TMI). I can't do protein bars either, but I don't know what it is that does…

For me, (other than eggs), it depends on the season. I get gnats if I leave the fruits and veggies out in the summer. I only keep them out during the winter when the bugs are gone. When storing most root veggies in the frig I put them in a plastic bag with a wet napkin around them. Keeps them growing and fresh longer. The…

I very rarely use it because I often go back and look at my progress and compare my eating and nutrient levels to see what I've been doing. With the quick add it's not an accurate view. I only use the quick add for tiny things, like someone mentioned taste tests at a store.

I look more at the calories and sodium then pick which every fat option that has the lowest. It's different with every brand, so their labels don't really matter.

In my opinion, no not now. It's too soon. He is still in jail. He needs to demonstrate that he can be a responsible adult. I suggest telling him that once he gets out of jail and shows that he is no longer in "that life," maybe 6 months to a year afterwards, then he can see the girls. In the beginning it should definitely…

Welcome and best of luck! This board is not too active, but people check in every once in while.

I've had some success. I'm doing the 5:2 intermittent fasting diet. There are two message boards on here about it. You eat normally 5 days a week and fast (eat up to 500 cals) for 2 days a week. Fasting can be any day you want and can be moved around to fit your schedule. I lose about 1-2 lbs a week, sometimes more,…

I had this problem a while ago but I went to the regular doc and they gave me a medicine that I think started with a C. It dries up the post nasal drip and finally gave me peace at night. The over the counter stuff never worked only the prescribed exporant (i think it was). I'm not sure what country you live in, but if you…

How did your appointment go? I haven't had plastic surgery, but. I know many who have. There are many types of tummy procedures.

Excellent! You've done sooooo great!
-
It 500 cals, not including exercise. I'm on it and it works well for me. You may want to post on one of the 5:2 message boards because on the main board a lot of people who know nothing about it like to comment negatively. Also, I have the book but it isn't a requirement. The author has a lot online about the plan.

Thanks! Great info. I just got my doc to check my blood work yesterday and everything was excellent!!
