  • Thank you! I have been doing Zumba for about 3-4 days a week now for the past few weeks and most of my weight loss until this point has been consistent dieting/clean eating. I scaled back my exercise to alternate 30 day shred and Zumba with some days that just call for cardio (walking/jogging/trails or treadmill) I have…
  • I sometimes hit 1200 cal or up to 1400 and 1700 depending on my workout/burn. Try calorie cycling vs consistently hitting 1200. My diary is open for healthy references - I am vegetarian and eat mostly clean. If you find that 1200 can cause you to fatigue easy, crave more, binge as a result/ cal cycling is a good way to…
  • TORANI 0 calorie sugar free coffee syrup - French Vanilla- I use it to sweeten up smoothies, baked items, coffee and honey :) seriously try the torani coffee syrup! It's sold at walmart just make sure you go fo sugar free = 0 calories. Awesome for when you but frozen fruit (no sugar added) for smoothies! Cheers!
  • Jars of peanut butter....
  • I do love me some carbs lol. I have a feeling that some of the resources for informaiton that I've found - are either confusing or misleading I'd like input from people who have lived the changes rather than googling to seek out answers. So please, all feedback I'll take! Here's a little more info about me: I'm 5'9" and my…
  • I took the plunge and bought a jar of PB2 yesterday! Last night I mixed 2 tbs with 1 cup of low fat vanilla greek yogurt and sliced a banana in to the mix. It works!! Nice low calorie alternative that offers up that super-happy flavor of peanutbutta!! Good call guys :) I feel like I've been saved!! haha
  • I made white chocolate SF FF jello pudding the other day and cut up a banana and put the slices on top then melted PB and drizzled it all over....SO GOOD!! white choc + PB = foodgasm
  • Brilliant! This is an idea that I like :) I buy earth balance natural creamy PB with flax seed and I LOVE IT. PB is delicious anyway but this stuff - some other level of holy. lol 1 jar a month - I like it!! (because I've been averaging about 3....maybe 4...hahahaha)
  • haha oh lord - obviously if peanut butter is my biggest vice, then I'm doing pretty good. I personally have to remove the temptation for the time being so that it doesn't interfere with my weightloss progress. Because, well - clearly I'm a sucker for PB. :) I definitely need to invest in those prepackaged serving cups, yo.…
  • Hey man. Don't mind all of the smug and sarcastic idiots who are replying to your thread. Once people are stuck in their ways...well...let them figure it out. I see that you're asking an honest question and are interested in an honest answer. I'll take the science away from it because I want to base my reply off of my…
  • Could be a sign that mother nature is preparing to drop in and pay you a visit in the near future. I minded my eating two weeks ago but I was like...going crazy. Not really, truely, and honestly hungry feeling - so much as I was just thinking about food and my mouth was watering. I hadn't had a day like that before hand so…
  • Thanks everybo dy!! :) and now that you mention it - whoa !! I do look a lot younger in my current picture!! Score! NSV for the books baby! lol
  • Ahh! That is awesome! Myfitnesspal is an incredible resource, is it not? Congrats on your progress!! Pictures are so important along the way - I find that I can tell I feel healthier and my body fits in clothes differently...but the way I see myself in the mirror vs the way I can see my weightloss in before/current pics…
  • Thank you guys! The thing I've learned so far is that progress pictures are a definite must. 20 lb may seem like a lot or a little bit of weight depending on who you ask - Honestly, I feel different and can tell that I've lost weight but to me, when I'm looking in the mirror, the differences seem so subtle ... and yet…
  • **(I USE TUMBLR FOR MY BEFORE AND AFTER/ PROGRESS PICTURES :) Because its easier to post there than it is here. You can look them up by searching for my user name on Tumblr. - Jilliangetsit Cheers! Maybe you should be eating more... (please look in to your BMR & TDEE) YES! It does sound counterproductive but/especially if…
  • I'm starting today! I'm going to follow this thread :) I currently eat between 1200-1400 calories a day and up to 1700 on workout days. I think I'm going to avg between 1500-1700 starting out and make modifications to my intake as my energy levels become more obvious to me - My diary is open and I'd be happy to network…
  • Very well stated! NROL is teaching me so much about how the body absorbs and processes the nutrients you fuel it with. I'm already a carb (complex) and protein junkie as it is. Time to expand on that part of my diet even more so!! I've found that it's difficult to find this information broken down in to layman's terms. You…
  • Rock it Kita! Definitely keep me posted! I'm about to up my calorie intake even more as I'm getting ready to start New Rules of Lifting for Women :) we're some hardcore ladies
  • bump - more people need to consider this!
  • Your metabolism will be a bit different because of the difference in hormones/types of exercise etc. and depending on how intense/frequent your lifts are you may actually even need more than that! Find your BMR and then create a comfortable range above and below that (within reason...like how mine is 200 calories more or…
  • Maybe you should be eating more... (please look in to your BMR & TDEE) YES! It does sound counterproductive but/especially if you are exercising - YOU NEED MORE CALORIES lol I had lost about 12 lb on the 1200 cal limit that MFP gave me (fine and dandy) but I ended up exhausting myself because I wasn't providing myself with…
  • YES! It does sound counterproductive but/especially if you are exercising - YOU NEED MORE CALORIES lol I had lost about 12 lb on the 1200 cal limit that MFP gave me (fine and dandy) but I ended up exhausting myself because I wasn't providing myself with enough nutrition(energy) to sustain my daily routine let alone…
  • Stay awayyy from the conference roooooom lol besides, the frosting is probably crusty and stale by now anyway - that'd be a pointless binge for something that tastes disgusting!
  • Fortunately, for me I was focused on my calories first. This go around, I've decided agains the 1200 cal suggested limit by MFP and increased my daily goal to 1400 - in that I've lost 20 lb (I can eat either 200 more or less than my goal on a day to day -- varies related to my exercise) I've just recently become more…
  • This post has me PUMPED! I've just started lifting in the last month and my New Rules of Lifting is on the FedEx truck for delivery right now :) I can't wait to get home and tear in to that book!!! Cheers!
  • ^^ this! I know it sounds counter productive but your BMR is how many calories your body needs on a daily basis to just simply function (ie brain activity, lungs working to inflate and deflate when you breathe etc) you should google BMR calculator and determine what your Basal Metobalic Rate is. Then look in to TDEE…
  • Amazing transformation!! You look great! I love the comment about having an athletic figure under all of the sticks of butter.. it resonates with me. I'm 5'9" and have always been a little heavier set so I was just under the impression that my figure was broad and "big boned" I'm just about down 20 lb now and I've become…
  • This is going to sound crazy, but give it a try - I hate hate HATED dubstep music until I was on my treadmill and walking and I accidentally put on Daft Punk radio (search for harder, faster, stronger - song title) and my feet just started walking to the beat!!! And some songs have a faster tempo so I'd up the speed and it…
