If someone brought cake in here, i would burn this place down to the ground...0

Know the feeling. I work at Walmart and they always treat/reward us with food. Safety incentives and whatnot... Hard to not give in, I am the one who does the cooking for 3rd shift, so it can be very difficult to stay away. We had a taco bar a couple weeks ago. Not quite as bad, I made a salad out of mine with few chops and lotsa veggies.... anyway, yes it is hard when free food is available.0

this is funny.
i swear, with all the incentive for healthcare programs to trim weight for health (and to lower their and company's costs), it just doesn't jive that companies let anything edible through their doors.0 -
Stay awayyy from the conference roooooom lol besides, the frosting is probably crusty and stale by now anyway - that'd be a pointless binge for something that tastes disgusting!0
-
I agree with several other posters. If it's GOOD free food, I'll fit it in. The success is in passing on marginal stuff just because it's there. I can take a bite and throw the rest out now.0

Agreed. Especially if it doesn't contain chocolate. Why bother. :happy:0

The Evil Ones around here frequently bring cookies and cakes to tempt me with, and every Friday brings doughnuts of such great power that just walking past them has to be recorded as calorie intake. I work for a company that owns gas stations, so every time a wholesale vendor brings samples (candy bars, chips, what-have-you) they wind up getting put on the table too.
BASTIDGES!0 -
Cookies everywhere here! I'm always up for a good cookie but give me a freakin break!0

bacon sandwiches
omg.
congrats for resisting --
Why congratulate that?? I would congratulate eating the bacon sandwich.....every day should have bacon in it!
Hmmmm, seems I will be adding bacon to my roast beef dinner tonight!
Bacon can be added in at any meal. It's one of the easiest foods to fit into any given day/meal.
Now I want bacon0 -
The girls and I are ordering a large pizza for the office for lunch. I'm gunna try to manage only TWO slices. Then I'm gunna have to do some serious Just Dance 3 with the youth tonight. Pizza is my kryptonite.0

BASTIDGES!
LOL! Thought my husband was the only one who said this!
I'm with everyone else, if it's worth it, then yeah, i'm all over it, but so few things that people randomly bake and bring in here are, so....pass!0 -
I understand big time. That is why I have my personal snacks onsite LOL0

Today the Insurance Rep brought his favorite HR ladies fresh fruit cups. I almost jumped him right then and there. My cup had MANGO in it.
We have a very popular designer bakery nearby called White's that does everything right. If it's from White's I don't hesitate. If its catered cafeteria fodder I pass (unless its Macaroons, in which case I have as many as I can stuff in my greedy face).0 -
I wish I was only dealing with cake today! Here is what I have at work today:
Beer and pretzel cheese bites
Hot & Spicy Burger Buns
Buffalo Style Chicken Breast Filets
Smoky Ghost Pepper Cheese
Bourbon Bacon Topping
Carmelized Balsamic Onion Jam
Turkey Burgers (white and dark lol)
Waffle Fries w/ Masa Batter
Sweet Potato Waffle Fries
Breaded Cod
Mahi Mahi
Hatch Chile Chicken Street Tacos
Queso Street Tacos
Assorted Greek Yogurt Cheesecakes
Black Cherry and Ricotta Cheesecake
Salted Caramel Ice Cream w/ Sea Salt
And about 28 other items that we have to sample for a spring product launch.
It's going to be a deliciously amazing day :drinker:0 -
I use my office break room as a dumping ground for sweets and other food I don't want around the house. Anything I put in there is gone in an hour or two. They're like ants with sugar. Since I'm weird about eating in front of people, it's not too hard to resist.0

I like the 100 calorie packs of chocolate covered pretzels. I have one of these when craving something worse. There sweet and yummy so I feel satisfied that I got a treat and there are a lot in the pack so I don't feel cheated0
-
I heard there was cake here...
And... Bacon Sandwiches!!!
But, they didn't eat one!! I just don't know what to think of this craziness!0 -

I work for a food distribution company
Since I work in Inside Sales, we are supposed to sample all the new products so we know what we're talking about when working with our customers. I handle all of our casino accounts, and they always want to know about new products.0 -

This is what I do!!!!! Sometimes my husband will get sweet treats from customers and we have a piece, and its to the office the next day! Get that sh.t out of here!0 -
Currently dealing with this right now. My office loves to bring in goodies. Today it's doughnuts and chocolate. I've been resisting for about 2 weeks now. Feels good.0
-
OMG for once there aren't any sweets staring at me from the desk in front of me. It's been a constant strugle for months now. The sweet bringer finally got another position so she's not here anymore. She was killing me daily.0

My office is having what they refer to as a "grazing day" tomorrow. Fried chicken and all the fixins to go with it. I decided to make dessert because if I make it and bring it to work on a day like this, none of it will go home with me and I can forego eating any of it! Why does an office full of people who sit around need something called "grazing days" anyway?? Why not have "get moving days" instead where we all do some jumping jacks every hour?? LOL0
-
bacon sandwichesomg.
congrats for resisting --Why congratulate that?? I would congratulate eating the bacon sandwich.....every day should have bacon in it!
I actually don't like bacon anymore...unless turkey bacon counts. *ducks and runs for cover*.
As for cake....if you want it and can fit it into your day, go for it. We had Dunkin Donuts at a staff meeting last Friday, I wanted it, I ate it, I counted it. Mmmmmm.0 -

why in the world have "grazing day" on an obscure day in march?
i mean, prior to holidays, etc. it's justified -- but not just any random day --
-- it they had a "get moving day" i think, sadly, nobody would come --0 -
