First, I totally agree- I am intimidated by the weight room and the guys in there! BUT- I also know that my insecurity will make me read things the wrong way, and help is help. As we become more confident in doing something new, we show everyone- including ourselves- that we CAN do it! I won't let my insecurity- or…

It's very hard to keep the faith when we have high expectations of ourselves. I find I'm more concerned about "doing it right" than being realistic about who I am, where I am and what I need to do for myself, and that leads to being discouraged. I find I'm my own harshest critic, and I avoid looking at myself when I don't…

I'm completely inspired by the brave people here who share their journey from obesity to fitness. I'm in! I'm 5'-3", 136 and aiming for 121; moderately fit but upping the ante. I'm looking to lose 15 in 15 wks- I'm new here, any advice (and friends) would be welcome!

OK- THIS time I can say it's because I quit smoking for real and for good. But that doesn't explain the ups and downs of a lifetime. Since I was about 9-10 I've gained and lost the same 40 lbs at least 3 times; I've been more stable the last 10 years so right now it's only 15 lbs but it could easily be more. I LOVE food-…
