MPF assumes that the activity level you signed up with did not include exercise- but general work activity only. It then figures how many calories you burn based on this and then subtracts 250 cals for 1/2 lb a week weight loss, 500 for 1 lbs/week, or 1000 for 2 lbs/week. MPF also assumes that exercise you log is above and…

For those who are asking about TDEE and are confused there are several threads on this forum that help in determining your calories goals. If you search for In place of a road map (IPOARM) you should be able to find several threads. The following link is similar to the IPOARM but is a bit simpler and doesn't focus so much…

Honestly the grammar (or lack of) made this thing too confusing to read all the way through..... or understand...

I use the IIFYM site because it has a calculator based on your activity level- you can enter how many hours of activity and has examples of light or very heavy activities. http://iifym.com/tdee-calculator/ click on [enter activity level] after you have entered your basic info and it will give you a drop down menu where you…

What I have been doing is sort of a combo of TDEE- 20 and MPF. My TDEE can vary wildly due to my health, some days I can't get off the couch, other days I can hike for hours and be fine. So I calculated my TDEE for the days when I sit and do nothing and subtracted 15%- which turns out to be very near 1600 cals- which is my…

I have fibro also- not on any meds though except the occasional alieve. I found that high soduim or processed foods intensify my fibro flare ups, and weather can also be a big factor for me. very light exercise often helps my pain from getting worse...

Honestly I use a mix... I used IPOARM to figure out my TDEE and BMR... there was no way I could survive on 1200 cals... My daily goal is set to my TDEE- 15% for days I do nothing (ie sit on my butt watching netflixs, knitting, or sewing all day) Since my activity levels vary greatly from day to day due my health/pain…

I have a tendency to overestimate my cals especially on my homemade dishes. But I also occasionally underestimate my exercise- mostly because there are some days I am less enthusiastic than others.

Are you sure that the 1951 is your TDEE instead of your BMR? BMR is the amount of calories you burn if sleeping the total day. TDEE is the total amount of calories you would need to stay at the same weight. I am shorter and younger than you- not sure what weight you are because of the typo but at 5'2 and 140 my TDEE is…

Nope! We eat out about once a month, but we prefer sit down restraunts when we eat out, or travel, and more often than not are less expensive than fast food. Chinese is my weakness though! We eat at Wendy's or Taco Bell about once per year... but they always make me feel bloated and lethargic afterwards. Although subway,…

I'm 5'2" I have my calories set at 1600 - which is my TDEE-15% for my lazy/painful days where I do nothing. I eat back almost all of my exercise cals up to about 2100-2200 total- any more than that and I feel bloated and icky even if I spent all day outside working on the homestead..... I also set my activity level to…

This made me giggle! Once spring has stayed long enough for all the snow to melt, and no more freezing temps I will gladly send her on her way to other areas...

This This guy, who you said, doesn't support your goals, breaks promises, chooses drugs, and shady friends over your relationship. It's obvious where his priorities are currently... You need to figure out what you want out of this relationship, and weather or not it can be worked out... Is locking yourself in a room and…

This is almost exactly like our midwest household- when we can actually afford organics, grass fed meats, whole grains etc... we spend about $200 week, for me hubby, and 8 year old son. We buy lots of fresh veggies and fruit, local cheeses and ... But currently our food budget $125 week- so we cut out some organics and…

My goal is set for 1600 cals/day. This is aproxmently my TDEE - 15% for days I sit on my butt and do nothing- which occasionally happens due to Fibro pain levels. On days I am more active I eat most of my exercise calories back. Although even on my most active days I found that any more than 2000-2100 cals I have to force…

bump I have used mine to cook larger ducks or a goose durring the holiday when the oven was otherwise occupied. I also have used it to cook dry beans and of course canning garden goodies and chicken broth.
