Try looking up "raw orange juice" or "raw peach juice" etc. I am a juicer and haven't had any troubles finding these things on MFP. Usually you have to know about how many cups of the fruit you are juicing or you can sometimes select "1 orange" or something like that. Keep looking. Otherwise, google for nutrition facts and…

I don't have any additional advice, but I wanted to say I'm rooting for you both! My mom has PH. Are you on IV meds? I didn't see you list any IV meds, but I'm familiar with the other stuff you mentioned like Adcirca. My mom started on Veletri in January and it's a rough med to be on, but she seems to be showing minor…

You look amazing!! Well done!! You are very inspirational to me. :)

I found out 3 years ago that I'm dairy, gluten, soy, beef and sunflower intolerant. If I can cut all that crap out, you can cut out lactose! ;-) Some of my fav alternative foods: Cheese - Anything made by Daiya - best alternative "cheese" invented. You can melt it, turn it into cheese sauce for mac'n'cheese or nachos, or…

You can do this!!! For your daily motivation, go to the Success Board posts on here. That's what gets me through the days when I want to give up! I'm doing C25K right now too! I just started week 4 on Tuesday. Tonight's my running night. :) You just have to keep making time to take care of yourself. It's hard to do, but if…

Hi there. So sorry you are going through this. My mom is also in CHF. Hers is due to her disease, pulmonary hypertension (PH). It sounds like your dad could possibly have this too based on how you described his symptoms. If he is in that bad of shape, it might be way too late to try to treat him for PH if that is what he…

Go for it!! I'm doing it at 200 lbs + and doing fine. It sounds like you are an otherwise healthy active person now so as long as you take it slow and listen to what your body is telling you, you will do fine. I think it's great that you want to try it. I've been too scared to run since high school (10 years ago), but this…

Thanks for posting your success!! You are very inspirational to me. My starting point is very similar to yours and we're about the same age. I'm 5'5" too, highest weight was 248! I got down to 197 for my wedding and then got pregnant 2 weeks later, gained 35 lbs and I've gotten back down to 203 now finally (my daughter is…

That's great!! Congrats to you! That's my goal as well. I've never been a size 10 and I've been at least a size 14 since I can remember, and have gone up to a size 18 at my biggest. I'm currently between 14 and 16, but my ultimate goal is 10. Thanks for posting about your success! I'm doing C25K right now. :)

Hi! I'm 28 too, and also live in CO. My doctor also recently told me that I should lose at least 20 lbs or more before getting pregnant again. (my daughter is 14 months old) I already knew that, but having a doctor tell you that you need to lose weight makes it so much more real... I once weighed 40 lbs more than I do…

I just started the C to 5k jogging program and am realizing that I don't hate running!! I hadn't run or jogged since high school.... I'm signed up for a 5k in 9 weeks that benefits my mom's disease so I'm working toward getting fit so I can jog the whole thing and raise awareness and money. I've also been running the…

Actually I had a friend who found out her adrenal glands were shot from having too much stress in her life... I can definitely say I've had way too much stress in my life lately with a full time job, new baby and an ill mom... I need to go see my naturopath again. Thanks for the insight. You described me exactly. Eating…

Yes please!! I kinda started last weekend (June 2nd) and I've done it a total of 2 times since then... I too have started it sooo many times and have yet to even make it through Level 2. I'm in for being supportive and being supported. Add me if you want!

Speaking from experience, this is a worthless treatment and will probably do more harm than good. I seriously tried it all. You have to treat the issue from the inside-out. The problem is most likely what he is ingesting with his current diet.

I think a lot of others have already suggested everything I would, but I'll repeat it. I was suffering from crazy bad eczema a couple years ago, and still suffer if my diet gets out of control, but my hands were so full of blisters and open sores that I developed staphylococcus and could have died if I didn't figure it out…

You look amazing!! And you shaved off about 10 years of aging it looks like to me!! Great work, and thanks for the motivational pictures! :)

So sorry to hear again that he's got so little time left. It reminds us all about how fragile life is. I completely understand the food for comfort thing. My mom was recently diagnosed with a very rare lung disease called pulmonary hypertension (high blood pressure in your lungs). It's very debilitating and her heart is…

Agreed!! I worried non-stop about how I was going to look on my wedding day and I worked hard to lose weight but still only made it down to 197 for my wedding day (started at 240 when I was very very sick from food allergies). I had envisioned being somewhere more like 160 for my wedding day, but I didn't even come close.…

Just started last night, Level 1 - Day 1 complete!! I got a late start, but the soreness I'm feeling today has me motivated to keep going! I've never actually made it to Level 3, but I'm determined to go the whole way through it this time. I took before pics last night so I'll be posting those soon. Hope you're all doing…

Great job!! You look so much more vibrant!! Congrats to you!!

You are a bad@$$! Great job! I'm in your shoes as well. I'm fixing myself because I can control my fate as I helplessly watch my mom suffer (from a disease that was not caused by weight, but would be easier to deal with if she was in better shape). My dad also had diabetes and had to have a leg amputated due to infection…

Hahaha brilliant idea on getting your hubby to go with you!!!

Hi group! My name is Rachel. I'm 28, fairly new mom (my daughter is 10 months old). I sit at a desk for my job (engineer). I had lost about 50 lbs before my wedding in Aug 2010. Then I got pregnant 2 weeks after the wedding and gained a total of ~35 lbs... I'm getting close to being back to my wedding weight, but have…

I agree about increasing your HEALTHY fats. By the way, what are you frying your eggs in and cooking your meats with? I always account for using olive oil when cooking because I am essentially consuming those calories too. I'm wondering if you are underestimating your caloric intake? You will go into starvation mode if you…

You should open up your food diary so we can see how you're doing. I go into the red zones often on my diary and it doesn't mean that I am eating too much. You should really focus on getting enough protein, eating back exercise calories and at the very least, your daily allowance. Try to stay around your daily target for…

Most people do each level for 10 days at a time, so you do level 1 for 10 days, then go on to level 2 for 10 days, etc. When I've done it before, I never was able to do it every day due to lack of time, but I think it really works for those who do it every day if not close to every day. If your body is screaming for a rest…

I just joined too! I've done parts of it in the past and started to get really great results, but I have yet to ever follow it the whole way through! It will be great to have buddies on here to stay accountable!

That's hilarious!!! To the original poster, congrats girl!! What a great feeling!! I've continuously flirted with plus sized clothes depending on how big I've let myself get, but I was just shopping the other day and all the plus sized clothes seemed way too big on me when I tried them! Keep up the great work!

You are very brave to post your story and be so honest. Congratulations to you on getting clean and healthy. That is amazing. I wish my little cousin would do the same as you and clean up her body before she ends up really sick or worse. She is an alcoholic (with a DUI) who also dabbles in drugs and eats so horribly. Her…

I'm right there with you all too. My daughter is 9 months old and I still have around 10 lbs of baby weight to lose, plus I need to continue on with my original goal of losing about 40 more after that. I had lost 50 lbs for my wedding in August of 2010 and thanks to being fit and healthy, I got pregnant 2 weeks after the…
