From one extreme to the other

So, who would have thought a year ago I’d be doing the things I’m doing now???? Surely not me, and most definitely not my family….more then likely none of you since I don’t know any of you! lol I’m just curious how many of you have made drastic lifestyle changes along with you weight loss? For me, I started running and fell in love with it, got my mountain bike back out of the garage and regularly ride that 9-13 miles on the local trails….then, this spring my gym held an indoor Duathalon which I participated in which led me to my first Sprint Triathlon which I’m now addicted to, participating in my second one this coming weekend. So from fat, lazy, beer drinking couch potato to “Triathlete” , never in a million years would I have imagined that transformation!! How about you guys, any similar stories?

    Great loss so far! Congrats!

I never dreamed I would have run my first 5k a year ago... Nor that I would see the number 1 in front of my weight again. I could be more drastic in my lifestyle changes, but it's working for me right now.

I just started the C to 5k jogging program and am realizing that I don't hate running!! I hadn't run or jogged since high school.... I'm signed up for a 5k in 9 weeks that benefits my mom's disease so I'm working toward getting fit so I can jog the whole thing and raise awareness and money. I've also been running the stairs at Red Rocks in Denver, something I never thought in a million years I would do!! Great job by the way on all of your success. Keep up the great work!

I've always been more on the athletic side but running was never my thing. However, the older I got, the more the pounds crept on. In dire need of a turn around, I signed up for a marathon. Yes, not a 5k or a 10k. The whole 26.2 miles! Never thought I would "catch the bug"! I have now signed up for my 4th marathon this November. While I'm no where near as skinny as "normal" runners, it has helped me lose and keep off the weight. I enjoy being a stronger woman, both mentally and physically. Not to mention, I get to see more of the world by traveling to different areas of the country for these races. Win~win!
