I am 5'11'' and weigh about 280. I am almost done with all of the pre-op doctors appointments and should be ready to schedule lap band surgery soon. My weight is pretty evenly dispersed too. I'd be interested in hearing about your journey.

I really enjoyed seeing your progress and knowing that weighing every day isn't detrimental. Thanks for posting and for doing such a great job!

I read through all the replies (as I'm starting this journey AGAIN) and thinking that all of them apply to me too. So, when I go home today, I'll have hubby measure me and take an unflattering beginning picture. Then I'll continue tomorrow to reinforce that I AM worth it and it's going to make me so much happier in the…

You are so brave and confident and successful! I come back here day after day looking for your posts (you and tageekly both) because they give me hope for my own future.

My husband and I just registered for the Bear Mountain, PA Spartan in July 2013. It's our first race of any kind, definitely the first obstacle race. Coworkers have run "regular" races and one I know has done a Tough Mudder. We're trying to get some of them to sign up with us. My husband rides his bike for exercise but I…

What a great question! I'd like to start by being able to run the 5K I'm registered for in November without embarrassing myself. :blushing: Eventually I'd like to (in no particular order) run a Tough Mudder, a Color Run, hike the Appalachian Trail, rock climb, adult pushups (more than 2), pullups, swim as much as I want,…

You just did it! Wander through the forums, find something that interests you, find someone that sounds positive in their comments, and send a friend request. This site is only what you make of it - catty and snippy or supportive and friendly. I love the friends I've made here! Good luck!

That is truly AWESOME! Way to go!!!

When I moved out, I took my 2 year old son with me. Separated, and after the divorce, I kept my ex's last name up until I married my new husband so my son would have some continuity. I know he was too little to truly understand, but I felt it was the best decision for us.

I've been on and off various depression meds for years. As long as you follow some sort of eating plan (not the eat all you want plan lol) and attempt some form of exercise, you should be ok. There's definitely a spiral effect to it - when you do well, you feel better, then you do better. When you stumble and falter, then…

I went ahead and bought it. I like the fact that it tracks steps, flights of stairs, and will take a look at my sleep patterns. I also like that it syncs with mfp to add what could be extra calories to eat back at the end of the day. A lot of people (myself included) see it as a challenge to get more steps in throughout…

Someone at work told me to try them recently. The cinnamon flavor is good on raisin bagel thins. The sundried tomato or queso chipotle is good on rye or wheat sandwich thins or wassa crisps. They are very creamy which makes them very different than standard cheese slices or anything like that but I think for the calories…

This is me. To the letter. I am slowly finding my determination to do exactly what she did - recover my life. Good luck with your journey and feel free to friend request me. :-)

We have our kids (11 and 7) pack their own lunches. Choices range from leftovers, lunch meat and sliced cheese, peanut butter. There are chips/pretzels but baked or the more natural kind (Snikiddy for example) and plenty of fruits and veges. The general rule is they are not supposed to throw anything away but bring it home…

They are definitely laced with crack. I wind up eating the whole bag if they're ever open near me too.

Besides my ex? Several people at work who are constantly sniping, always right, constantly complaining, incessant giggling stupid..........

10 years ago I did just this - I grabbed myself by the shoulders and screamed at myself (in my head so the neighbors didn't call the cops) to get out of the marriage I was in and build a better life for myself and my son. I've done just that. A lot of other "things" happened, but I found my way out of them. Good question!…

LOVE! This may just be a good push, one that I need, to get my Fat Girl self back out on the street running.

Absolutely sending prayers for you and your family right now. Do not give in to temptation. Resist the urge. Rely on those around you for your strength in this time of trial. You are strong and you can do this.
