In this case, the pain is worth it. Treat yourself to some baked cheese crisps. :)

I have my cholesterol/triglycerides checked every year. The last one I had done was a year ago (maybe a bit more), and while I was at close to 300 pounds and trying to lose weight by cutting fat and calories but not carbs. I'm going to get my labs redone in a couple of weeks again, and I'm interested in seeing what my…

I am on daily and do log daily, but don't post to my wall or comment on the boards daily. I'd love to have you as a keto friend, if you'll have me.

I'm a low carber. :) I've had my share of struggles at times, but for the most part I'm LC/Keto. I'd love to find more like-minded friends.

Here's something I do.... I'm a homemaker and am pretty busy most of the time. In the morning, I fill a gallon jug up and drink from it all day, adding ice to my glass as needed. I keep it nearby so that water isn't far off. I know it sounds lazy, and it probably is, but I have hydration issues stemming from a medical…

It sounds like you are, in fact, dehydrated. Have more water. I know it sounds like a lot, but a lot of people on LC/keto drink a gallon or more, especially in the first little while. In addition to all of the water, have some broth. When you go lc/keto, your body dumps sodium, potassium, and magnesium. You need to make…

Have you explained that your health may be at stake if you get away from your diet? If so, does she not get it? Parents can be such a pain.

Chicken broth. From what I understand, when you are eating extremely low carb, your body dumps sodium, potassium, and magnesium. (Someone more knowledgeable is more than welcome to correct me). You need to replace that. Eating high sodium foods and supplementing with potassium and magnesium helps. I also keep some sodium…

I have used and like this calculator. The reason I posted and prefer the one I did is because I can keep an ongoing total of my numbers, percents, weights, etc, all saved into a spreadsheet I can carry with me wherever I go.

I love pumpkin pie most of all and I'm going to put this recipe here. It looks like it has promise. It's a grain free pumpkin pie, made with a nut crust. http://www.thepaleomom.com/2012/10/the-best-paleo-pumpkin-pie.html As is, if divided into 8 servings, it has (per serving): Calories 345 Total Fat 25.2g Total…

The video in the previous post is pretty amazing. I "know" the science behind it, but this helped me "see" it better.

Interesting! Pinterested!

I didn't realize you started this thread back in June. I started a similar one. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1099412-21-day-test

He's 15 days in now and seems to have plateaued a bit. He's overall up just over 10 pounds (4.6kg) and up 2 3/4" in his waist (7cm). http://live.smashthefat.com/5000-calorie-carb-challenge-day-15/

Really yummy ice cream with chunks of yumminess and caramel. Also, cheesecake. Real cheesecake.

I think a 10-12 would be perfect for me. I'm 5'8" and not fine-boned at all, so I really think that if I drop below 150 and/or 10/12, I'll look skeletal and I don't want that.

Oh, and she looks amazing.

How does she stay at 10 or under carbs per day?! On a good...I mean really, really good day, I can stay just under 20.

Wonderful!!

His Day 5 update: Interesting.

What I meant was I'd have been happier if he did the high carb testing if he ate SAD "healthy" carbs. I'm well aware oatmeal and fruit are high in carbs. :)

It was more to satisfy my curiosity and confirm my suspicions. It's my body responding to how I'm now living, and that's what I wanted to confirm. Like I said, I did this once before, but at a different point in my cycle so I didn't really have any effects like this. Thank you for your help.

Coconut custard?! Do tell! I'm quite fond of pepperjack cheese.

I could always use more ketofriends! I think I added everyone above me, but please feel free to add me to your friends list.

Fat bombs really, really help me.

One more thing: With me, I stopped eating so much after I became more adapted to this way of eating. I would absolutely fill my plate, as usual, but only eat about half. I wouldn't even think about it, but I'd just be done. The first time I did this and realized it, it blew my mind. I've been a lifelong plate filler/eater,…

I've been eating this way since March 8th. The first week was tough, but I stuck it out and ended up 8 pounds lighter. In a week! The second week was a bit better, but I had stalled weight-wise. I almost quit several times at that point, but in all honesty, I felt great. My energy was up, my joints no longer ached, and I…

I'm slightly up and down from day to day as well. As a motivator for myself, I don't track my weight unless it's down. If it's up, I use that as motivation to get it going back down.

I just came back to this topic and read it again. Once again, I thank you. It's really helping me see the big picture when I'm feeling lost and discouraged.
