Walking into the dinning room and my husbands friend asking me if I've been working out told me he was checking me out. haha
-
Whatever dude. :)

No, not odd. She weighs 270 and is eating 1500-1700 a day. Not enough in my opinion and my research. I didn't look at her logging to see how accurate it is, but I do still think it's too low for right now.

WAIT - you've lost 83 pounds in 2016?? - SHEESH GIRL - it is working! Even if you mean in 2015 - keep going, you're doing great!

I'm assuming you are not eating enough calories - is your heart rate high? Are you challenging yourself? Try to do something different? My doctor mentioned to me that I have to workout 5-6 times a week for an hour, hour and a half each time in order to loose.. so far it's working. It doesn't hurt to see the doctor though.…

Feel free to add me - I started at 210 - today I am 187 and trying!

Obviously you need a deficit to loose weight. SO if you log your drinks, you probably won't be able to eat anything in order to get that deficit. So, technically, you could drink a lot but I think it will be hard to have the energy to workout. I drink - but I log my drinks. 6 beer is 900 calories, thats a lot of food I…

What do you guys think is better? MFP or IIFYM?
-
Welcome back! :D

I definitely don't want to do a low carb diet that's for sure. I just want to be healthy, eat properly and exercise. No huge goals, just take it as it comes. Biggest goal is to keep up with my mountain biking group this summer. I've changed my goals to 40/30/30 too as the other posters commented the same thing. My calories…

Thanks everyone. Makes sense. You are right cwolfman13, I was just going with the IIFYM calculator and prefer the zone for sure! I'm looking at loosing fat, while maintaining muscle but not really building at this point. Back to the gym soon. :)

If it's working for you and you are enjoying yourself, I say keep at it! I work out sometimes 6 times a week. You might get bored of the same routine after a while and need to switch it up. Yes, your muscles need a rest and it's good to incorporate different things, but right now you are making progress and that's what…

Log your food at the beginning of the day. See where your calories are about to go. That's what helped me. Plan your meals ahead of time. Maybe save the money you're spending on convenience, in a jar and use it as a reward for a new pair of shoes or get your hair done. Health or Not. That's up to you.

YOU ROCK!!! Awesome post! Awesome accomplishment.  :flowerforyou:

To give you an idea, I started at 208, am 5'4" tall and my calorie goal started around 1900 a day and I eat back my exercise calories. I've lost 17 pounds since January and my current calorie goal is 1690 and I eat back my exercise calories. So, I think you should eat more. :D

1200 will be too low. :) Stick to 1460 for a while and see how you do. I don't know how tall you are or what you weigh though.
-
Welcome! Yes, if you are following MFP. You don't want your net calories to go below 1200. If you are eating 1460 - 300 calories burned per day, you want to be eating 1760 a day. Good luck!

Don't give up!

I haven't been on mood stabilizers, but steroids and anti-depressants and gained a lot of weight too. THE only thing that made me happy and feel normal was to change my mind set and get back to the gym and start eating healthy. I have since gone completely off all of those meds (everyone is different) as I felt they made…

This is true, however, if you use a heart rate monitor (chest strap) paired with a fitness tracker, it should be pretty accurate. I use Endomondo when out on trails for the GPS feature. But really, how does anything know how many calories you are burning? (i know math...) We are all different physically.
-
Oh ya, I pair Endomondo with the Polar H7 bluetooth chest strap. http://www.amazon.ca/Polar-Bluetooth-Smart-Heart-Sensor/dp/B007S088F4

Endomondo for the iphone... used GPS to track your routes, speed, distance, calories burned and heart rate if you have a heart rate monitor. PolarBeat is good with a polar heart rate monitor. My choice is Endomondo! You can add friends, challenge people, challenge yourself and your progress. It's free. I only use the free…
